I Have Just Read The Previous Review And Feel I Ha
I have just read the previous review and feel I have to reply.
After 2yrs of constant use in the north east of Scotland and often in terrible weather conditions( torrential rain coupled with high winds)I have NEVER had any water ingress!!.This, is without doubt because of the the Protex 3000 and, just as important, ensuring your tent is well ventilated.
The Albany 400 has 3 vents, 1st is at the rear in the sleeping are and the other 2?? ,, are the cleverly designed windows one on each side of the living ares which, used correctly, can ensure a continous flow of air through the tent (even in torrential rain and high winds)which prevents the dreaded condensation. ( this is, what I believe, the previous reviewer experienced) I use this the albany 400 as a solo tent( well, I like my space!!) when I go fishing and I like the quick and easy erection time coupled with the footprint and the carpet the Albany 400 is a bit of luxury!!
The only negative thing I have to say about this tent is that when I bought it in 2008 there was no mention that the Albany 400 was a 'one off' and that it would not be reproduced. I would liked to have added a sun canopy to it but, it appears, there is none available which is a great pity..
To recap.... I found this tent to be of a high quality build with great 'specs' easy to erect with great durability and confort and, without doubt, great value for money

Well Designed Tent With Plenty Of Storage And Livi
Well designed tent with plenty of storage and living space, bargain for what we paid (£74) easy to erect and re-pack, no problems with leaks (so far used 2 times in wet conditions) very stable if pitched correctly (not too tight or loose) Use of a footprint is recommended, I made one as Vango does not appear to offer one on its website,

The Vango Albany 400 Is A Reasonable Tent For Fair
The Vango Albany 400 is a reasonable tent for fair weather conditions only. Not one for traditional campers either.
The awning (porch) area leaked during heavy rain/ wind - if you shook it ligthly on the inside you could feel yourself getting wet. As a result, over prolonged periods, a large amount of standing water appeared in the front entrance. Out of the three tents we took, two had poles break during heavy wind, although this did not result in the tents actually collapsing. I go camping several times a year and am confident we put these tents up correctly.
