Spacious And Secure

We've had ours up in all sorts of weather, including the recent downpours in the New Forest. Ours was the only tent on site with no damage or leaks.

Not small, and a struggle to get back in the bag- I do wish manufacturers would be a little more generous with the bag sizes, and perhaps provide some sort of compression straps. The other big omission is hanging loops for lights.

Definitely best with the porch extension, the footprint and the carpet - makes for a real home from home.

We'll be really sorry when ours finally needs replacement, as they're no longer made.

Purchased This Outwell Nebraska Xl Tent In 2007. H

Purchased this Outwell Nebraska XL tent in 2007. Had a replacement (minus poles) due to small hole in window. Found it a bit tricky to put up, but with only 2 of us and a 5 year old think we did really well. With all tents think designed for flat surfaces as seams did seem a bit stretched . As always got heavy rain. Got a few leeks on the stressed areas( where main tent joined with porch, due to 3 poles all going into one area....not a great design idea!!) Had a few small leaks on stressed areas. Last holiday in Aug 2009. Very, very , very wet and near gale force winds. Many tents on campsite ended up in bin...but my tent even though took hammering stood the test! Couldn't belive it only let in a few puddles. Took the time to get the seam sealer out when the tent was dry and realy paid attention to the areas that leaked. Brill tent ...love it.....if we had great weather would be in it every weekend in the summer. Outwell are fab quality!!!!

Third Time Up It Turned In To An Indoor Swimming P

Third time up it turned in to an indoor swimming pool. Rain poured in to the tent like the canvas did not exist. Very expensive waste of money - avoid like the plague. Very poor quality. I will not buy Outwell again.

Nebraska Xl Is A Brilliant Family Tent - Loads Of

nebraska xl is a brilliant family tent - loads of space and really solid and leak free in wet weather. Because its big and sturdy, erecting it does take time. However the design is very clever and when you're used to it, erecting it is very straightforward.

We Have Used Our Nebraska Xl For The Last 2 Years.

We have used our Nebraska XL for the last 2 years. We did have heavy rain at the start of the holiday in 2007 and it did leak like a sieve. We had already tested it at home and been given the waterproofing stuff and seam sealer for nothing to fix the problem while we were on holiday but as the weather was great after that we didn't bother. When we went away to isle of wight last year it was pretty shocking weather most of the time and it didn't leak a drop! go figure! we think that after the initial pitching the seams sealed themselves and sorted itself out. Last year it was also really windy there were a couple of other nebraskas on our site and i think they were the only tents that survived the storm intact while lots of otheres ended up in the bins!! The space inside is great and for a family of 5 is very comfortable in bad weather! It is time consuming to pitch but well worth it. Even on a gentle slope if you make sure you get the central crossover poles as square as possible it goes up well.

My only gripes with it are

1 We really need some way to fix the carpet to the groundsheet because it slips all over the place which is very annoying.

2 Some straps to stop the crosssover poles in the centre from slipping and spreading away from each other would be good. Last year as we were on a slope we had to readjust their position a couple of times over the 2 weeks we were away.

We are going away again in August and all the kids look forward to going in the tent! It is a brilliant design for the interior that will grow and adapt with our family.

I Have Just Bought The Nebraska Xl And What A Bril

i have just bought the nebraska xl and what a brill tent, the first thing we did was erect this home from home and hose it down, we found the tent quite easy to erect so we were impressed from the word go. we left the tent up overnight to dry out and the heavens opened and it rained heavy for hours and the tent did not leak one little bit. The tent is huge inside and the bedrooms are great too as you can stand up in them with plenty of head room where ever you stand in this tent. lovely big living seperated from the big porch as well, all in all a brill tnt and we cant wait to get out there and use it.

Outwell Nebraska Xl Is A Looking Tent With A Tardi

Outwell Nebraska XL is a looking tent with a tardis like feel inside. Have two tents and this is just for the long stays - as it does take up quite a bit of room in the car with both a large pole bag and tent trolley bag too - and takes a while to put up. Certainly worth the effort.

Lot of internal pockets and amazing space - especially the living area. Buy an insulated footprint carpet as it is great for the kids to play inside on a night or when it rains. Front porch makes a great cooking and food storage area too.

Afraid to say mine did leak really bad under prolonged heavy rain. However, it really helps if you construct it right. Allow more flex betwen the poles and the tend to give some slack where the three poles meet at teh front. As well as some slack internally where the internal bed chambers are attached to the outside. Really noticed a difference in the amount of water not coming in when there was more slack - rather than tight as possible :) Literally a couple of very small pools comapred to a lake - which we had in France! Also add some sealant on this points where there are the metal connectors for the poles to insert on. All in all a great buy and worth the hassle! But buy a smaller tent for weekend breaks :)
