LICHFEILD CHEROKEE 3 MAN TENT

Bought this tent to go camping in snowdonia,initially i struggled to erect it but having said that this was my first tent so hardly suprising so after help from one of the other lads who is well experienced in this feild it was easy enough,once you have put it up once its easy.

First night we were there there was very strong winds and driving rain,and the tent! well that held up extremely well no problems of any description and looking around the campsite in the morning i was one of the lucky ones.

There is plenty of room inside the bedroom area and the porch and once your trip has come to an end its easy to take back down and get back in its carry bag so overall i am well impressed as a result i would recomend this tent to any one

Have had tent for 3 yrs, use it at Silverstone GP weekends. Has withstood very bad weather, rain & winds that blew many other tents away! I have put up alone but easier with 2 people. Have only used it for 2 people with minimal luggage. Would definitely recommend.

Leaked at the door during the first slight shower of rain.

I am a Scout Leader and Quartermaster and four years ago we purchased 5 of these tents and they have proved to be a disappointment.

1) Build quality is poor especially when it comes to the Outer Zips, I have had three zips replaced under warranty by Lichfield (after forceful discussions), 8 poles have split and the Outer tears where the poles fit into the Ring & Pull.

2) The Ring & Pull system requires considerable strength and put too much strain on the components. Scouts under 14 cannot pitch these.

3) Functionality - they are not waterproof in Wind & Rain because the wind blows the outer on to the inner and the water just runs through.

I would only suggest using these during Summer and for careful personal use.

For our Scout Group I am going to spend approximately £100 per tent and probably purchase Coleman Phad X3.

It appears you get what you pay for, spend £50 and expect to replace the tent in 5 years.

Lichfield Cherokee 3 person is a brilliant tent for the money, watertight and easy to erect.

i use my Lichfield Cherokee for the motorcycle rally secne and take it on the back of my bike it fits great. i love this tent it has never leeked and ive had it out in bad rain and in the snow it will be getting replaced with the same one when this one has had it... which i know will be quite some time from now.

Carried on motorcycle and used every night for 1 month. Weathered two heavy periods of rain and remained watertight. Erected and dismantled 32 times in 30 days. Will replace with same when this one requires replacement. Used by two people with ample place to store kit. If you want to camp on the north face of the Eiger this is not for you but for a months touring in reasonable weather its ok.

Lichfield Cherokee 3 person tent would be perfect if it actually stayed up by itself - ruined by its inability to stand up. A good tent if you live somewhere with no wind and no rain (indoors).
