Stanwix Park Holiday Centre, Silloth

As a family we have been coming to Stanix Park since the early 90's. This year we came with my sons (who enjoyed Graham and Foxy as children ! ) and their young daughter. This was to celebrate my 60th birthday. Although it was quiet at the beginning of the week , it was enjoyable (. Apart for their oven not working 24 hr response time!) However on the Friday the apartments above and to the side of us were invaded by noisy drunken 'people' . Who were gathered in and around drinking all afternoon, throwing food over the balconies to the grass out side us. Keeping us awake in the early hours when they came in. We discovered in Silloth that Stanix were offering discounted breaks for the beer & music festival. Have nothing against people having a good time, but don't think it was appropriate for a family holiday park. We should have been made aware of this when we booked. We curtailed our break early because of this.

Second time we have stayed at Stanwix park the park is very clean and tidy and the caravan was situated in a great position my son had lots of fun, entertainment wasn't as good as last year. We stayed 4 nights and when we came to check out i handed the lady on receptionist the key we had been given for her to say i was given 2 keys which i wasn't, i was handed 1 key for caravan and an envelope with all details of the site. So the receptionist was adamant i would have been given 2 keys and went on to say i have to pay £10 for a key i was never given and if we leave the park then we will get a bill for £26. £10 for key and the rest an admin fee. We was so disgusted on how we was treated, the staff have no customer service skills and the manager that we had to wait 4 hours to see just demanded the money. It doesn't state anywhere in reception that u must make sure u are given 2 keys. So we never questioned it when we was only given 1 key. The whole thing was dealt with badly and all the un professional manager could say was" we have heard it all before when customers lose keys" well to tie all customers with the same brush is disgusting and lack of good management. So we ended up paying £10 for a key we never had. Disgusting!! So be warned when u check inn. Cos it doesn't say anywhere how many keys they give u. Probably there way of making money now the park is going quiet. Ruined our holiday!!

We spent 4 nights in caravan our accommodation was self catering was so clean tidy & comfortable , facility was good we had great family time if u need to have a nice piceful and relax break choose Stanwix park.weather was very nice we had sunshine for 4 days and it was wonderful.19 Apr- 23 Apr 2010.

Just returned after a weekend at Stanwix Holiday Park.I was greatly impressed very clean holiday park,the club was brill and the pool and gym were great.Caravans were excellent even having a heating system during the cold weather.I couldn't find anything to complain about.Ther is a small shop selling the basic things that you might have forgotten to take.

I have visited Stanwix Touring Area and hired a static caravans on this site. As a family we have been from Tummel Valley to Devon and have not found a better site. This site has everything a family could want. Now as our children have stopped holidaying with us we still go to Stanwix. The staff could not be more helpful and go out their way to make your holiday what you want it to be. We attend the themed weekend every march and have no intention of stopping this. I would recommend this as a holiday park for both family and liberated parents.

we have visited many holiday camps over the years but this was the cleanest we have ever been too. the entertainment was fantastic and the staff and food were superb we will definitelybe booking another holiday at stanwix in the not too distant future.thank you stanwix it was just what the doctor ordered.

Stanwix park itself looks really clean and tidy. The toilet blocks are not very clean throughout the day, the only time they are clean is first thing in the morning. The complex looks clean, but the pool is not. You pay £6.00 per day or evening to get into the complex, even if you are not using the facilities, you have to pay £6.00 to get in to have a drink, which I think is out of order. Would not recommend to anyone who is working on a low budget, very expensive.

Just come back from Stanwix Park this is our fouth visit. I was very disapointed in the caravan it was a 2008 model which i have stayed in before, we had to get the house maid back out to clean it, if you could call it that. It took me and my family 2 hours to claen the caravan from top to bottom, there was dust a least an inch thick on doors and fire blanket, toffee wrappers left lying around,coffee stains on wall and ceiling. Staff at reception not happy to assist you when you are complaining, asked for our money back but they wouldnt give it us so we had to stay. Mattress on double bed had springs sticking up out of it. Sadly one staff member wasn't there this year which was a shame as he is great with the children and adults, the entertainment of a night time is fantastic. New entertainer there but he isnt what we are use to at stanwix park, children didn't like him as much as others, Having said all this the children still had fun but it wasn't the same. Not sure if we would return again very disappointed after having so many good years there.

I think the Stanwix Park Holiday Centre caravan park is really good been there twice when I was younger and had a really good time both times. Comin back hopefully at the end of the year as i know i will have a good time there.

We have been going to Stanwix Park for 17 years using own tourer,the apartments and the static caravans.We have found every year there is an improvement to the site.Our children have fond memories and their partners are now enjoying the site too. Our grandson of one has been numerous times already .The standard through out the entire park has been has maintained .Every one who we recommendend to the site has returned . We hope to enjoy many more years at this top park.
