We Took Out Touring Caravan To Searles. This Is A

We took out touring caravan to Searles. This is a big, family-owned site. The facilities are very good, particularly the on-site shop which is more like a supermarket and has been carefully stocked to sell everything you will need and not too expensive. There is a large indoor entertainment centre with amusements and kids activities and a bar and couple of fast food type restaurants we didn't try (Chinese and American). This also leads to a proper restaurant and bar where we had a decent Sunday dinner - the chef carving gave us a massive pile of meat and you could help yourself to as much veg and roasties as you wanted. There is also a fish and chip shop but we had to wait ages for our fish and it wan't very nice (soggy batter) - don't think the girl cooking it knew what she was doing. The outdoor pool area is very good and there is an indoor pool we didn't use because it was very small and busy. The night-time entertainment was very impressive, with a big stage and professional set-up. All the entertainers are very approachable, friendly and are good performers. The kids loved them. Overall the site is well maintained although there was a bit of dog poo here and there. Touring facilities are good with decent shower facilities. There is a Tesco within 5 minutes walk and a land train to Hunstanton which is a decent little town. Our biggest complaint was that the nearby beach is not nice, quite dirty and the seafront seemed very run-down. Also, it was difficult to access because there are buildings in front of the promenade so you have to climb up a grass bank and go through a hole in the fence! It's either that or walk about half a mile along a back road, the only view being a steel fence and a concrete wall. That aside, we enjoyed the holiday and will return again purely because of the quality of facilities, friendly staff and entertainment.

We Stayed In A Coastal Cottage Which Was Lovely An

We stayed in a coastal cottage which was lovely and clean,it was close to all the amenities but not too close. The entertainment was really good with plenty for the kids and great shows in the evening, and the food in the restaurant was nice but a bit pricey so it works out better value to do half board. The indoor pool was a bit small, but there is an outdoor one and splashzone as well.the park also has crazy golf a fish and chip shop, chinese, italian and american eating places. The park is within walking distance of Hunstanton beach ,sealife centre and the town.It may be a bit dearer than some places to stay but it is certainly worth the extra.I will go back to Searles Leisure Resort again next year as I had a good holiday there and it isn't as commercial as Haven or ParkResorts.
