Value For Money
Saltash Lodge No. 6
26th July 2013. Six of us used Honicombe Manor as accommodation while we went to a wedding in Gulworthy Church, near by. We stayed two nights. Although high season they allowed us to book for just five nights and we were fine with that. Cheaper than six in B&B for two nights each. We were more than satisfied with the accommodation and it would have been great for a longer stay. My adult daughter said, "she could happily spend a couple of weeks here". Beds appeared to be quite new and certainly very comfortable. Everything was clean and the place was well equipped. Very nice kitchen equipped with everything you would expect in a modern kitchen. We were impressed with the ground floor lay-out with regard to bathroom facilities. Since there were six of us there was some pressure on the shower use and loo. The en-suite had a bathroom door opening onto the corridor where the others could make use of the facility if required. En-suite occupants had their privicy since they could lock the door inside if necessary.
Although six of us, there was ample room to spread ourselves around and at no time did we feel were were getting in each other's way.

Avoid Going And Don't Waste Your Money!
please read the reviews on this place and avoid going.
It is dirty, very run down and a reject from the 1970s...expensive and we left early but managed to get a 50% rebate from the travel company.
Shame the nasty letter from the honecombe rep could nit acknowledge that the place is in d need on repair. Funny though from Basel Fawlty 2 lol
We Bought A Timeshare For Approx 4k From Them And
we bought a timeshare for approx 4k from them and after constant badgering from them agreed to sell it back to them for 2k after seeking advice from the timeshare consumers association. despite receiving a letter stating that cheque would be sent out at end of February we are still waiting for payment. they do not respond to any e-mails sent. DON'T TOUCH ANY OF THEIR SCHEMES WITH A BARGEPOLE. apparently this is not the first time this has happened according to the timeshare consumers association. we also concur the person who writes about the standards deminishing
I Worked In The Honicombe Manor Restaurant Within
I worked in the Honicombe Manor Restaurant within the last couple of years... oh dear.
I have rarely seen such bad practices followed in any establishment I have worked in.
I have not seen inside any of the lodges so I can't judge on that. Looking at other reviews they don't look hopeful.
All I can say is if you have already booked to go here PLEASE don't eat their food. I say this out of concern. I don't wish that microwaved, frozen and often out-of-date "food" on anyone.
The local area is beautiful. The Tamar Valley has much to offer the right type of person. There are lovely walks and the trainline from Gunnislake to Plymouth is charming.
There are many decent places to eat within a 10 mile radius: Browns in Tavistock, Lyndas Bistro just up the road, The Royal Inn in Horsebridge and The Halfway House in Grenofen. So if you do stay here or somewhere around here it isn't all doom and gloom.
I found this review very helpful because I have booked a 3 bedroom timeshare lodge for next years holiday, however after reading lots of reviews for this year it appears that this place is in need of an inspection of the site and its management by the directors that own this complex. I will most probably cancel my booking. In 2009 this complex had lots of good reviews, so whats gone wrong. I feel very sorry for the private owners who will suffer from all of the negative reviews so far this year. It seems to be down to very bad management.
The greater percentage of Honicombe self-catering properties are privately owned and as a previous reviewer states, owners want their guests to have a positive holiday experience. Whilst probably not intended, this review is very negative and adds to the difficulties owners are having in letting their holiday properties. The site, including the leisure facilities, bar and restaurant are owned by Club Domaine and holiday home owners have absolutely no say in how these are maintained and run. Some owners even provide their guests with membership of local clubs with excellent leisure facilities. It would have been more constructive for the author of the review to have contacted the Chair of the Honicombe Owners Group, who would have taken up the matter with the site owner or Cornwall Environmental Health Department. As I say, the review is going to hurt the people who care about the site and also care about their guests enjoying their holiday - sadly it will probably have a negative effect on their guest numbers.

We Had A 4 Night Stay At Valley Lodge No. 11, Whic
We had a 4 night stay at valley lodge no. 11, which we booked through Tamar Lodges. The accomodation was clean and tidy and had everything the 8 of us needed for our stay.
Its a great base for exploring cornwall with Plymouth and Dartmoor within easy reach!
I Have Just Returned From A Weeks Holiday At The H
I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Honicombe manor with Hoseasons staying at a V.I.P. Dartmoor lodge and found the site very rundown and neglected,it has a minimum of staff as may is out of season and nothing is open,The bar the resturant the shop the only thing open is the indoor pool and the sauna and hot tub are not working the whole place needs a good overhaul.
The one day the resturant was open the food was good and the bar o.k. but you must remember Hoseasons do not run this site but only rent out block accomadation with other companies and some are private lets on caravans and lodges,Also you are miles away from any shops or the sea,The only good thing was it was a good place for a base but i would not stay here again,I paid nearly £600.00 for a week and its only worth half that,In a few weeks time you will pay £1000.00 and thats insane
Have Just Stayed In A Vip Lodge At What I Can Only
Have just stayed in a VIP Lodge at what I can only describe as a 'run down council estate' I would not recomend this place to my worst enemy. The lodge was dirty, it smelt and was thread bare. It was certainly not a luxury break, could not wait to get home!
I Am An Owner Of A Honicombe Property And Have Let
I am an owner of a Honicombe property and have let it through agencies who quality assess properties prior to advertising them to ensure that they are of a high standard. I have also had the property assessed by 'Visit Britain' and it has attained 4 stars. Like many self letting owners we are very proud of our property. Unfortunately, we have no control over the on-site facilities. Because of this I give my guests temporary membership of a private leisure club which is open all year round, has an excellent swimming pool, spa facilities, restaurant etc., rather than have them disappointed by the poor on-site facilities, when and if they are open. Please don't be put off by the negative reviews. Privately owned holiday properties at Honicombe offer excellent accommodation on what is an attractive site in a lovely area of Cornwall.
