Weekend Away At Park Dean Holidays In Looe - October 2012

We decided to book a caravan at Park Dean for the weekend of Oct 2012. Due to road works we arrived late around 8.00pm we had called ahead to advise them as requested. We went into reception for our key and was given directions to Caravan number 78. We were then told that we could not park next to the caravan but in bays provided at the side of each road. It was raining. There are no paths to the caravans so our shoes and bottom of our trousers were muddy. We entered the caravan with our belongings and I was totally in shock. The caraven was drab, dingy and shabby. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, dead flies in the light fittings. The fitted bench sofa was covered in black stains and the carpet was no better. The beds were not made up and the mattress looked worn, dirty & shabby.Even the radiators were covered in cobwebs and dust. This was a worry because my husband suffers from Asthma. At that point the man from reception came to inform us that he had taken us to the wrong caravan and it should be number 71.I told him I was happy to be moved as this caravan was dirty, to which he never offered any reply. We waited around in the rain for around 30 minutes. Finally, wet and despondent we arrived at caravan 71 having called him twice to see where he was. It was worse. It had holes in the partition walls, living area carpet covered in stains. mattress had something which resembled soil sprinkled on it, fridge dented, blinds absolutely full of stains, bent and broken. Thick dust build up again in the radiators. Extremeley shabby, again dead flies in the light fittings, nothing like the photos. We just couldn't stay, I could not bring myself to sit on the dirty sofa let alone sleep in the bed.We were starving but didn't dare eat there or have a takeaway. We drove 5 hours(300 miles) to get there, spent an hour being messed about, and drive 5 hours back (300 miles). The camp resembled a prison came. There is nothing welcoming about the caravans at park dean. They look just what they are shabby and dirty.

Never, Never, Never again - Do not go, totally mis represented on the adverts - shockingly dismal, dingy and dirty.

Never Again

I have just returned form my holiday at the Parkdean Holiday park in Looe Bay, I booked through sun holidays so wasnt really expecting too much, and had only previously booked them through Haven so was looking to try something different. Big mistake, the caravan was filthy, although they provided decent plates, cutelry pans etc, we didnt want to use or touch anything as the caravan itself was dirty. there was dust and dirt pretty much everywhere and my partner found a ball of blonde hair with fluff and dust attached to it behind a curtain. The toilet roll was dirty on the outside, you could see dirty finger prints of the person who had placed it there. the caravan was small, we were unable to get undressed in the rooms with out falling on the beds! however if the place was clean we wouldnt have minded, we had to make a long journey to the nearest morrisons to get cleaning products, I spent my first night cleaning just so we try and feel comfortable. There werent much of a amusement room, as well as any entertainment they tried to provide. and the take away food was really bad, we had two burgers and chips, and chicken nuggets and chips for my daughter, all got left after a couple of bites as you could smell dirty and taste stale grease. So we never spent too much time on site and had to make very lengthy journeys to go elsewhere to enjoy our break. Im just so relieved we booked via the sun and didnt waste much money, I would have been livid if i'd booked independantly and paid what they normally charge. Safe to say I would never recommend Parkdean to any one, and definately not the one a Looe Bay.

I'm very surprised at this review my family and myself have just returned from a holiday at this holiday park and our caravan was spotless. We have been going to Looe since 2001 and have never had any cause for complaint

Parkdean At Looe Bay - Having Had Holidays With Pa

Parkdean at Looe Bay - Having had holidays with Parkdean previously, generally we've been very happy. Unfortunately our first time at Looe Bay Park will be our last! The caravan was old and tired but we would have forgave this had it at least been clean. There was a Rose Award sticker on the caravan dated 2010 but if this is true my perception of the 'Rose award' is now not to be trusted. The toilet was particularly dirty and had not been cleaned in quite a while. Apart from having to antibac spray all the sufaces etc, the shower tray was cracked and toilet seat broke. The carpets was very stained and dirty and the settees were also very uncomfortable.

I Love Looe Bay, I Have Been 5 Times With With My

I love Looe Bay, I have been 5 times with with my 2 children who are a toddler and teenager and they both love it and look forwardx to it all year. Sid and Lizzy (the mascots) keep my toddler entertained before bedtime whilst on site, and she talks about them all year round!! My teen is happy with the indoor heated pool and extensive, inexpensive arcade area.

The caravans are spacious and clean and the staff on site very friendly and helpful. There is lots to do onsite in rainy weather and Looe is only a short drive away.

Looe itself is very beautiful, my favourite place in the world I think! It has great crabbing for the kids and loads of shops for the ladies!! Nearby polperro is a must see too for a proper piece of cornwall. The monkey sanctuary isn't all that great, but a trip to Eden and walk around Mevagissey are awesome weekend away activities for all ages.

I can not rate this site highly enough - I can not wait to get back again...

PS - If you are coming down on the M5, which merges onto the Devon expressway - a little stop at Trego Mills near Newton Abbot is a real treat if you have either small children or are a shopping obbessive this is place for you!!! There are loads of either free, or very cheap rides etc for kids to do combined with the biggest shop I have ever seen - complete with bargin prices!!! It also has a little (tiny) zoo, which is completely free for kids browse around and pet the animals. We drove past it for many years, then one decided to pull in - it has now become part of the holiday!!! If you have never stopped there before - try it - you won't be disappointed x x x

We Had A Holiday At Parkdean Holidays, Looe Bay In

We had a holiday at Parkdean Holidays, Looe Bay in April 08 and had a great time, the caravans are beautiful and clean and really warm, you even get a power shower. Lovely spacious living areas and great kitchens. The park itself is really clean and well maintained, the pool is great for young children as it's well-heated, and the adventure playground and crazy golf kept our young son amused in the early evenings while I was cooking dinner. The entertainment in the evening is what you'd expect, nothing amazing but the hosts were great fun and made it special for the kids. Unfortunately, our experiences booking this year haven't been so good. We were really looking forward to going back with our 10-month old son and booked the same caravan as before plus travel cot. A few weeks ago, realising that baby's sleeping patterns still weren't settling down, we re-booked a bigger caravan at the same park so that he could have his own room - and explained this to the Park Dean rep we booked with. Last week, my friend tipped me off that some Park Dean caravans didn't have enough room in the bedrooms for cots, and that she'd been told her baby would have to sleep in the living room. We phoned Park Dean and to cut a long story short, we've had to move to a different holiday park in order to get a caravan with a bedroom big enough for a travel cot. I wasn't impressed as without my friend's tip-off we'd have been facing a week of VERY early nights! Not really what we'd wanted from a holiday - our only holiday this year and quite possibly the last one for a while...

Holiday March 08. Having Booked This Site, Looe Ba

Holiday march 08. Having booked this site, Looe Bay through sun holiday offer. I did not know what to expect but was very happy with the choice, went out of season, booked in and got the key as soon as we arrived which was before check in time. Caravan was lovely and warm they had put the fire on and there was heating in all the bedrooms and bathroom. There was a bus stop right on site which took you down to the seafront where here is lots of interesting things to do for young and old. I would recommend Parkdean for such a lovely site.
