Incredible Experience
My 12 year old daughter went to Camp Kimama in 2013, and she absolutely loved it. She came back after her two week session, and could not stop talking about her experience. She made several new friends, both Israeli kids and others, and fell in love with Israel. She now wants to continue learning Hebrew, and can't wait until next summer to go back to camp and reunite with her friends and counselors. I have sent her to other Jewish camps before Kimama, and she never really connected to them or other campers. I am so grateful to Kimama for giving my daughter such an incredible experience!

Apalling Pastoral Care And Organisation
Do not send your children here if you expect to be able to communicate with them, have your emails passed to them or expect to be able to telephone and speak to a person in authority no matter how urgent the matter. Despite their claims that their is an email address to have messages passed to your children this is not true and in addition if you send emails yourself to the office they are just ignored despite being titled urgent, critical etc. Similarly if you call you cannot speak to a responsible person in a position of authority as the organisation is totally apalling. Unfortunately we have had bad news in our family but two days later am finding it impossible to speak to a responsible adult who can help me with any pastoral care or arrangements for my children.
I Used To Work At Camp Kimama
If you are thinking about sending your kid or teen to Camp Kimama, then you are already thinking in the right direction!
I used to work in the registration department of Camp Kimama. Back then as a director of international registration I talked with hundreds of Kimama parents from the years past. I was amazed to hear the parents talk! They could not stop telling me how much Camp Kimama meant to their kids. On the regular basis they (the kids) dreamed to come back to their "Israeli NeverLand".
As in any program and business there were complaints too, but I remember being surprised that overwhelmingly parents were happy, satisfied and actively recommending the Camp to their parents of their kids friends.
I remember that Camp Kimama was actively advertising in all kinds of places including El Al Atmosphere Magazine (among hundreds of other places), but I can assure you that the biggest and most potent advertisement came from Kimama kids and Kimama parents themselves. This to me was extremely important quality marker!
Each year for 11 years over 1000+ kids from around the world came to this camp to have fun, make new international Jewish friends, grow as an individual and so much more. I still recommend it highly! So, if you are thinking about it... still... think no more!
