A Great Few Days Away In Slovenia

WOW, 15 of us went away to Slovenia and had the most amazing time, the restaurants were excellent (especially the one on the second night). The White Water Rafting was brilliant, always felt safe and well looked after. We went to some lovely riverside bars and really can't recommend this place enough or the team for a break away, well done guys can't wait for the next one.....!!!!

Excellent Service, Professional And Flexible

I could not find a local travel agency in the United States to plan a visit to the Baltic countries and I found Vamos Travel using google. Their website was informative and I felt secure seeing a phone number and address of their physical location. They responded promptly to emailed questions and phone calls. All of the details were clearly explained and made the job of planning a vacation very easy for me - I selected the 7-day Baltic Highlights and added an extra 3 nights to stay in Estonia for more time to explore.

My travel companion was unable to make the trip so I travelled solo. As a 62-year-old female I was a little worried about going to Europe alone but reading the itinerary and checking the hotel locations online before I left reassured me I would be secure during my journey.

The trip was 5-star service from the beginning to the end: beautiful hotels, excellent transportation, expert tour guides, well-organized and efficient travel for the entire vacation. The city guides and optional excursions were all exciting and informational. I was intrigued by the depth of knowledge (and language skills) of all the tour guides doing the English-speaking excursions. They were all patient, friendly, and were able to answer all the questions from our group - no matter what the subject or level of detail.

I also appreciated the pace of the tour and timely rest stops for breaks and meals. I highly recommend Baltic Visions (tour operator) and Vamos Travel. I plan to use their services again for future vacations.

3 Nights In Rome

4 girls and 3 nights away in Rome. I organized the flights, my friend "organized" the rest. Well, Vamos Travel organized it! (She definitely got the easy part of the deal). The hotel transfer was slick, the hotel was great, very reasonably priced and so central (only a few mins walk from the Colloseum), and best of all the guide that Vamos organized was superb. We were whisked past the queues in the Vatican and had the most fantastic couple of days also taking in the Roman Forum and the Colloseum - I can honestly say I have never learned so much on a weekend away. He was also able to recommend some great places to eat and drink and even made the bookings on our behalf. Fantastic. I'm not going to bother organizing holidays on my own again - Vamos Travel every time. I've already sent their details to two of my colleagues who are intending on making a visit to Rome. Thoroughly recommend.

Dubrovnik Long Weekend Away Via Vamos Travel

I couldn't recommend Dubrovnik highly enough. It was probably the best holiday I've ever had! The city is absolutely beautiful and small enough to easily get around in a few days. Fortunately, the weather was lovely which clearly helped too. From start to finish the experience was amazing. Vamos Travel organised transfers both to and from the hotel which made life very easy. The hotel that Vamos Travel recommended and booked, the Grand Villa Argentina, couldn't have been more perfect for a romantic weekend away. The service was first class, the Deluxe Superior Sea View room was fantastic with wonderful views over the Adriatic Sea and the Old Town. The facilities at the hotel were impressive and we made good use of them, for example, the Spa centre and it's private outdoor beach and pool area. The city also offered lots of adventure and activities, which again we took full advantage of. Vamos Travel again recommended and book an ATV/Quad-biking experience which was really good fun. We also went sea kayaking/snorkelling and hired some jet skis/bikes for the day to go island hopping! In the evenings you are spoilt for lovely restaurants and bars. Restaurants such as Proto (albeit relatively expensive in comparison to other local restaurants) was one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten in. The seafood is out of this world! We even went to a vegan restaurant called Nishta, which was inexpensive but very, very tasty. Would highly recommend it. Lastly, another restaurant right in the Old Port called Poklisar, had an amazing environment with live piano background music and a beautiful view out to sea. The food here was lovely too and reasonably priced considering the location. All-in-all a wonderful holiday which will be treasured forever, thanks to Vamos Travel.

Holiday To Warsaw & Krakow

We knew what we wanted to do and only Vamos Travel came up trumps! Our contact was extremely patient and very helpful and what he booked for us was marvellous. He even added Childrens Day in Warsaw and treated us to seeing the preparations for Barack Obama's visit - more by luck than judgment! The Guides he organised were extremely good and very knowledgeable. We were collected from the airport and transported to the train station; so much easier than having to find it ourselves. The train journey was well worth it; very comfortable, smooth, free coffee if we wanted it and of course a chance to see beyond the cities. I would definitely book a holiday through Vamos again, in fact I have already recommended them to friends. Keep up the good work Vamos!!

Painted Monasteries Of Bukovina, Northern Romania

Staying at Dragomirna Monastery was a delight, a completely different experience from your standard tourist hotel. Accomodation and food were excellent and the sisters (yes, this monastery, like many in this part of the world, is run by nuns) attentive and delightful. They brew a wicked plum brandy. Our driver-guide was exemplary, a true local who knew everybody that mattered, spoke excellent English, had a great sense of humour and a wide knowledge of the history and culture of the area and much else besides - a true all-round professional and entertainer. The pained monasteries themselves, the focus of our visit, are truly unique and beautiful. The area takes a bit of effort to get to and is consequently rather off the tourist track. This will change when Suceava inernational airport is completed, currently scheduled for late summer, my advice would be to get there before that happens

Can't Wait For The Next One!!

We have just come back from our second weekend away through Vamos Travel. As a small company of 15 travellers with a wide range of interests it’s not always easy to find something that everybody will enjoy but I can honestly say that on both occasions there has not been one single complaint!

Our first trip was 5 years ago (celebrating the Companys 20th anniversary) and we chose to go to Iceland with minus 7 degrees and more snow that we have ever seen before! We experienced a once in a lifetime trip seeing the geysers, the amazing waterfalls and the has-to-be-experienced Blue Lagoon hot thermal springs. The peacefulness of the place is something that will always stay with me. Everything was made even more fascinating by the stories that our guide – the fantastically named Arnie Magnusson – relayed to us. Even now we still talk about it in the office.

This year to celebrate our 25th anniversary we decided to do the opposite and go somewhere hot and hectic and so we booked Marrakech. What can I say!! It’s everything we thought it would be – the sights, the sounds and those amazing smells!! Although a weekend is only a short time, we got a really good oversight of the country and traditions from our guide Sidi who explained the history of the country, the religions and the traditions whilst taking us on a tour of the palace, the Mosque and the all-important souks where we got to try out our bartering skills amongst the very excitable (but always friendly) market traders.

I can’t recommend Vamos Travel highly enough – I have had many compliments about the organisation of the whole trip, from initial destination recommendations, to booking, room allocation and even menu choices for both trips. I have accepted these graciously and haven’t let on that all I did was speak to Brett and the Team and they sorted it all for me….

Spoilt In Vienna

From the arrival to the departure, Vienna did not disappoint. The Hotel Sacher was steeped in history and such service, food and old world courtesy. A visit into the beautiful Vienna woods at the beginning of autumn did not disappoint with a superb guide who had exclusive access to some of the monastery facilities hidden in the woods. The highlights were the Hofburg Orchestra playing in the palace and the Vienna Boys Choir which included a visit backstage to meet the boys. The history of Vienna was all around; palaces, art galleries, museums and coffee shops including Landemann'st where Freud took his morning coffee. I am already preparing a return visit thanks to Vamos.

Opera In St Petersburg

We wanted to see a Russian opera in St Petersburg - looked up the Mariinsky site, found an opera and a date and then contacted Vamos Travel. Their service was very good and everything was organised for us - flights, hotel, opera tickets, guided city tour, transfers, advice on visas. I would recommend the city tour to anyone who goes there - it included photo stops and the guide was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. The tour gives an overview of the city it makes it easy to decide which places to revisit. We booked tickets to the Hermitage online - you can then bypass the queues. Opera was fantastic!

The hotel booked for us was just off the Nevsky Prospect so convenient for everything we wanted to do and we used the buses a lot - very easy once you know the system. Unexpected cost when we checked out - electronic registration charge of 440 roubles. I would recommend St Petersburg and Vamos Travel to everyone.
