Travel City Direct

Had a holiday booked to Bali , Singapore and no one from the travel centre said that the borders were closed when I called to pay some more money towards our trip . 10 days later I had an e-mail to say that the flights had been cancelled. I called Monday to discuss the changes and different destinations. The lady said she would get back to me the following day . Tuesday arrived and still no one called so I contacted them again and another lady sai she would have a look and get back to me . It’s now Thursday and yet another call and 25 mins later I was put through to yer another person who is going to sort it ……….very disappointed and definitely won’t use them again . If this isn’t sorted this I’m having a refund so will let you all know how that goes !!!!

21 days now before i travel still no tickets, they have put myself and my children on a different plane to the rest of my family!!!! i am travelling single with my 3 children the whole of my family travelling separately. do not book with TRAVEL CITY DIRECT!!! worst company ever!! i travel to florida every year never had a problem until i booked with this awful company!!!!

I have used travel city direct every time i've visited Florida, i'm now going again for the 11th time.I can honestly say that i have never had any problems at all, staff are helpful and friendly, would recommend.

cannot give a proper review because i cancelled the holiday and went with virgin i canceiied out of pure frustration with travel city when i first booked with them as always i spelt my name out leslie when the confirmation arrived they had spelt it lesley

i rang travel city and they where adamant i had given that name and wanted 25 pounds to do a name change after numerous wasted phone calls i decided i did not trust them with our holiday they refused to return our deposit

therefore there inability to correctly spell my name cost me 250 pounds

I have used travel city direct twice to book holidays to Walt Disney world, Florida and i have nothing bad to say. there was a rep who greeted us at the airport to help us who was very helpful. Both holidays were amazing. i will be using them again to book our trip to Florida in 2014.

We have just got home from a 2 week holiday booked through Travel City Direct, staying in a standard 3 bed villa. We had booked a villa in Kissammee but when we arrived we were allocated a villa in Clermont, no where near Kissammee so that was the first disappointment. We arrived at the villa and thought it looked ok from the outside but when we entered we were aghast. THE VILLA WAS DATED AND TATTY and just looked horrible.

The kitchen area and bathrooms were wallpapered and the wallpaper was all coming off the wall at the edges. The bedding was old and some of the sheets bobbly and on inspection the pillows were stained. The mattress in the main bedroom was awful with the springs prodding through, it was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in. There were stained mugs in the cupboards, the iron had all burnt marks underneath so we couldn't use it and the water just trickled from the main bathroom sink.

In addition to this we paid for the swimming pool to be heated but the water seemed really cold to us. After a week we called the villa agency as we thought we should get it checked and they said they would send someone round to look. We were out when the pool attendant came but when we returned to the villa the pool water was quite warm. We didn't receive a call from the agents to say the attendant had found it not working and no offer of a reimbursement was offered until we called to say we wanted half of the money back we had paid for the pool heating.

We spent our first week of our holiday gmaking several calls to Travel City Direct and Virgin and the villa agents who said they would send someone round to check the villa. According to them the villa was fine and they said they could not move us to a different villa as everywhere was booked up. If they couldn't move us they should have at least given us a new mattress and pillows and some new bedding.

Would we book through Travel City again - DEFINITELY NOT - and as they are part of Virgin you should be ashamed of yourselves. The villa was not acceptable and considering we booked the holiday a year ago is this the best villa they could come up with???

I have been trying to get through to travel city direct on the phone on their 0844 premium number. For a week or two i have been trying to add dining plan and park tickets to my booking. So far i have been to the exchange via Delhi lol, and spoken to people who dont know what i am saying.

As a teacher of English to foreign students, all i can say is they are really havnt got a clue what they are talking about!!!. I called four or five times, and was treated terribley. For example, left on the phone, while they chatted laughing in the office!!. Or shouted at because I tried to explain what i wanted, some dining plans and park tickets!.

Yaseen, even told me there was no manager to help him understand he could only keep repeating "tickets come to you ten days before departure".

This is really worrying , i advise you not to waste your time calling their 0844 number, its expensive, it takes ages to get through and I got more help going to Virgin directly.. Hope they arent going to go bust?? I wouldnt be suprised....

Oh by the way ive travelled with them three times before, once to Boadwalk, then twice to pop Century. But it was about five years or so ago, they were brilliant then Im not so sure now.... Apprehensive Mrs Gable Newhaven

Never been to to USA be for so we was a bit lost and didn't no what to expect some of the reviews was really bad on here ! When we got to the hire car we got to choose any vehicle from the car park the we set of to get are keys to the villa ! After a little drive, and I was worried about giving a $500 deposit and I didn't even have to as I was offererd insurance for only $35 one of payment the villa was in davenport about 10 mins from Kissimmee it was in a gated drive with pin and the villa was so big 3 bathrooms garage pool washingmachine tumble dryer dishwasher towels ! Driveway what more could u ask for and the highway i4 was just 5mins away leading to all the parks ! The only problem was we had to come home and it's really small now.lol

We booked with Travel City Direct in a Standard 3 bed villa, allocation on arrival. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids aged 8 and 10 and we were there for the first 2 weeks of March 2012. I couldn't fault Travel City in any way. The booking process was easy (online)and we got a really good deal for the holiday including car hire. Pre holiday information was great, flight was punctual and pleasant, and Virgin Atlantic staff at both Manchester and Orlandon Int. airport were very welcoming. Car hire with Dollar was really good, although pay close attention when car hire rep goes through details with you as we found he spoke really quickly and it was hard to follow and understand what we were being charged for etc. However still very happy with dollar car hire. Picked up villa keys at Welcome Beds Centre - directions given by Travel City on booking information were really good. Found our villa really easy. Booked 3 bed villa - got 4 bed. Villa lovely - spacious, comfortable and clean. The pool was lovely too and was cleaned once each week. Obviously Disneyland and Universal Studios were fantastic but we had been to Florida before so we knew what to expect. I was a bit anxious after we booked the holiday after I read bad reviews about Travel City and Virgin and the standard of their villas etc but can honestly say the villa was perfect. It was in Town Centre Villas in Davenport and although there may have been the odd faint mark on the carpet the villa was perfectly clean and I wish I could live there forever! Last time we went to Florida we booked with a different travel company and stayed in a superior 5 bed villa in Windsor Hills and to be honest I couldn't say what the difference was in the standards apart from Windsor Hills had a clubhouse and communal pool aswell as your own private pool. Town Centre villas did not have clubhouse etc but apart form that, standard of villa was the same in our opinion.

Overall we all LOVED the holiday and would definitely do it all again!!! Would definitely book with Travel City again too!!

We stayed here summer 2010. Never again! The villas was filthy, the bed covers were stained, the sheets were dirty, the pool was filthy etc., etc.

My wife was reduced to tears - we rang the out of hours helpline which was answered by an english lady who was the rep who lived nearby . She refused to help and just said she would get someone to ring the next day. We washed all sheets and dried them so we could go to bed.

Next morning, nobody rang - we rang again and were told that the bed covers were dry clean only therefore couldn't be cleaned after every stay!!!! They did come and change the shhets and dry cleaned the covers, 3 days later. Obvoiusly, I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy, the villa was in a residential area rather than a holiday villa area. Our pool backed on to local men sitting round their pool staring at our every move. Our neighbour was also a resident, he was servicing his articulated lorry on the road outside and working out there till late. He then re-sparayed over the next week with a compressore and spray gun. We couldn't sit by the pool for overspray!

My sister and mum booked elswhere (not sure who with) and as they usually do, had a gorgeous villa. Ours unfortunately was not!

Please book elsewhere and I hope you get a better deal than we did!
