When my wife and I were first looking for a family holiday a safari certainly wasn't the first thing that came to mind but after some consideration and doing a little digging of our own we decided to explore the possibility. We contacted Mahlatini late last year about a potential trip to Kenya to see the Wildebeest Migration. Chris was really helpful and matter of fact about every aspect of the trip and that realistically, because it is such a popular event we would need to book it some time in advance. The children, 12 and 14, were particularly in favour of the trip especially my daughter who is an avid animal lover. We stayed for 5 days in the Ambseli National Park in Tortillis Camp and then moved on to the Mara at the brilliant Ol Seki Mara Camp which had also been recommended to us by Mahlatini. The flights were great, private transfers were perfect after a long journey and all in all we had a wonderful experience. Would certainly recommend Mahlatini in the future

Hats off to Mahlatini, they really did do a great job with our recent trip to Zambia. My husband and I had never travelled to Africa before and we were a little apprehensive at first about what we should do and where we should go. Being in quite a good position financially money wasn’t too much of a concern but we wanted an experience that really got us to the heart of Africa. After contacting a few different tour operators Mahlatini was recommended to us by a friend. We spoke with Laura and never looked back really she was very friendly and very informative. We also spoke to Sarah who only a few months before that had returned from Zambia on a walking safari. Her pictures on the company’s Facebook page looked incredible and for me it was important to know that the things she knew about the country she had experienced first hand.

We had an amazing time despite a few showers. Zambia is an amazing place and not somewhere we would have ever considered visiting so thanks to Mahlatini for opening our eyes a bit. First rate service and lovely people. Would definitely use again.

Great trip and great people. Normally I like to work through smaller independent tour operators because I think you get a better service and we certainly got that with Mahlatini. We had a continual dialogue going on with the guys and it never seemed any bother to them to answer our questions whether we rung or emailed. Its reassuring to know that these people have actually visited the places they are talking about as opposed to some clueless travel agent who tries to flog you a package to a place they have never heard of. I would never go back to using big commercial operators and businesses like Mahlatini are exactly why. My wife my son and I had an incredible time in Botswana; Chobe Chilwero Lodge was brilliant and the boat tours of the Okavango are just breath taking. We wanted an experience away from the crowds and the usual tourist trail and Mahlatini certainly delivered. The only problem was the 10 days seemed to pass too quickly.

Wow, just got back from a trip to Tanzania with Mahlatini and my head is still spinning. My wife and I had always wanted to see the Great Wildebeest Migration and so we contacted Mahlatini just before the new year about booking a trip. We wanted to travel with a company who specialized in Africa and really knew what they were talking about which is why we took our time before approaching any particular tour operator. We spent ten days in Tanzania starting out in Lake Manyara, then on to the Ngorongoro Crater and then spent four days cruising the northern Serengeti with our guide Ibada. We had a fantastic time and although Ibada said he couldn’t promise anything because after all you are tracking WILD animals we still got some great shots of the migration, which was a real dream come true.

I booked a holiday with Mahlatini to go to Tanzania with my husband and have just returned from our trip this June. We had an amazing time – saw tons and tons of animals during the wildebeest migration and were really pleased with the excellent camps chosen for us, Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge and Singita Faru Faru Lodge. The former was set in a fabulous setting, on the rim of a collapsed volcano, while the second was just perfect for game viewing. We felt we had a really great feel for Tanzania after our trip and would definitely go on safari with Mahlatini again.

From start to finish I must admit that Mahlatini were thoroughly professional and really made my trip to Tanzania an unforgettable one. My wife, brother, sister-in-law and I all decided to vacation together in April and as a pretty active bunch we figured that an African safari offered the perfect level of excitement and adventure. Having travelled to Africa in the past it was frustrating to speak to tour operators who seemed to offer little insight other than rather generic or scripted responses to my queries. I found Mahlatini through Google and after doing a little research was impressed with their online reputation. Eventually we opted for a 10 day safari touring through the heart of the country from Arusha and Lake Manyara onto Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. Tanzania is a beautiful and eclectic country and it was incredible to be able to share the privilege of experiencing it with my family. Cheers to Mahlatini for a wonderful trip.

I discovered Mahlatini last April when I was looking for honeymoons. My husband and I knew we wanted a twin centre honeymoon where we spent one week exploring South Africa and then a second week in Mauritius. Mahlatini were the best company that we found; providing just the honeymoon we wanted so we decided to go ahead and book for September. Sarah, our contact at Mahlatini introduced us to Honey Money which is their honeymoon gift service. Since we already had everything we needed for our house, we decided to use Honey Money and let our wedding guests contribute towards the cost of our honeymoon. It is a fantastic idea because you get a personalised page where your guests can view the itinerary and contribute to either the overall cost of the honeymoon or individual excursions. I would definitely recommend Mahlatini for those wanting an action packed and truly amazing honeymoon. We did pay a little more than we initially budgeted, but it was well worth it as everything went to plan. The level of service we received from Mahlatini and the staff at the hotels was outstanding, along with the quality of accommodation and locations.

I booked my safari beach honeymoon through Mahlatini after our wedding last December. We went with the recommended choice of South Africa and Mauritius and we weren't at all sorry - while we were waiting Mahlatini were kind enough to hold flights and bookings for us well in advance and we had a seamless transition from quoting to booked even though we had planned our honeymoon over a year before we actually planned to travel. As far as the honeymoon itself went, it was exceptional and we loved every single minute. We started in Cape Town at Four Rosmead which was really very homely and perfect choice for exploring the city further. Then we chose a malaria free reserve in South Africa to make things a bit less stressful for ourselves and Amakhala was an incredibly gorgeous reserve with friendly staff and wonderful safaris. We finished off in Mauritius at Heritage Le Telfair which was a week of bliss. Transfers were all waiting for us, our luggage was taken care of, and we had no worries the entire time, just freedom to relax - well, except when our safari wake-up call arrived, but that was worth it! I would definitely book further holidays in Africa with Mahlatini.

I went on a mobile safari with Mahlatini through Botswana last year for an amazing experience. The group I was with were excellent people, the guides were great and we really enjoyed our entire trip. Our safari, which was run by Wilderness Safaris, took us through the Kalahari desert, spending some time in the Makgadikgadi saltpans, Deception valley, and then moving on to the Okavango Delta. The question and answer session that took place once we'd arrived helped to allay all of our worries and ensure we knew exactly what we were getting over the course of the next few days. And it was a fantastic few days, with lots of early game drives but a number of fantastic sightings and different adventures over the course of a week. Highly recommended.

I booked a safari honeymoon to Botswana and Mozambique with Greg from Mahlatini last autumn. We actually had three stops going to Victoria Falls, the Okavango Delta, and ending up in Mozambique for the last six nights. The entire honeymoon was really incredible, we went with all of the luxury options so had all-inclusive the entire time, everything was taken care of for us, all we had to do was go along and enjoy! It was just perfect, we saw so many sights and I took over 1500 pictures over the two weeks!! My husband and I really feel like we went on a once in a lifetime honeymoon and it fulfilled all of our dreams.
