Keycamp Unsafe Accommodation Arrogant Rep
Just arrived home from la pergola, France, firstly we had to call the rep mobile 16 times on arrival before it was answered, the mobile home was not cleaned although we were told it had been, there was a very strong musty damp smell and after a day of heavy rain the mobile home started to leak from 3 different areas in the ceiling, after a short while the water then started to run from the ceiling down into the boiler putting out the pilot light, we put our hand into the ceiling hole cut around the boiler flue where the water was coming from and found the ceiling to be excessively weren't happy to stay overnight with water in the ceiling and wiring lights etc so the rep went to find his superior for advice.
The "superior" rep then arrived and was an arrogant ignorant rude liar, he told us the caravan was perfectly safe as it had been stood there for more than ten years , he hadn't even been inside for a look at that point ! He then told us all mobile homes hold water in the ceiling as a vent in the roof allowed water in , and apparently water was held in the ceiling at all times, so it seems this should be a very rich man as he knows how electrical cables , lights etc can run through a river of water in the ceiling! I asked him if it was normal for all caravans to have a bucket of water in the middle of the room to catch the drips and he said yes ! I've been staying in mobile homes for over twenty years and I never knew they held water in the ceilings ! We weren't offered alternative accommodation and had to ask the rep to leave as he was adamant the mobile home was perfectly safe for us and our four children to stay overnight while the rainwater leaked into the boiler, by 11.30pm the counter top was covered in water and we moved into a relatives mobile home, so we had 9 people in a 2 bed now that's another health and safety story ! We left a day early after paying for 3 nights and only spending one night in the mobile home ! Will never use keycamp again and have made sure all friends and family never use them again either !
Not So Good
Having stayed in a keycamp resort in France, I would not recommend this company to anyone who would like to have a nice holiday.
The issues we encountered were, 1. Staff were not informative - at all!, 2. Un-clean and old caravan.
The site itself was lovely, which included other holiday agents, but seems to me that keycamps needs a huge improvement in various areas.
Vias Plage France
This was our first holiday with keycamp and our last.
We booked through Thomas Cook for a mobile home on the Club Le Ferratt site, the site was lovely with a clean pool and nice beach however our mobile home was not so.It was very aged compared to most of the other ones on the site.
It was the only one without a deck so we sat in dust and dirt for 10 days, why this mobile home did not have decking or a paved patio area was a mystery to me, we expected to have a decking as we were booking the picture in the brochure however we were told that we had not specified that we wanted a deck but at no time whilst we sta in Thomas Cook whilst the rep was on the phone to keycamp were we offered decking or aircon so we wrongly assumed that we would have decking.
Instead we had rickety metal steps as I am recovering from two prolapsed discs in my spine it meant that once I was in the van I hade to stay there or stay outside, when it rained the dirt bounced up over everything and we had no choice but to constantly clean the floors as they kept getting filthy.
The toilet kept blocking which also meant water did not drain away in the sink in the kitchen or basin the rep unblocked it using out mop head!
The shower leaked badly and the shower head fitting kept falling off the wall, the glass slide out of the oven door when it was opened and the floor in the kitchen had a dirty patch put on the flooring but it also creaked very badly when walked on waking every one up at night whenever some one went to the toilet.
No other van available to move into.
Only good point was Simon guy who looked after the rental bikes he was great.
Hello, we’ve very sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with aspects of your holiday. We want all our customers to enjoy their holiday experience and it is of concern when we learn otherwise. We provide mobile homes both with and without air-conditioning and decking and these are subject to availability at the time of booking. With regards to issues concerning the maintenance of your mobile home, these should have been resolved promptly by our on-parc staff and we will be investigating why this was not the case.
If you’d like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us at [email protected]. We take all feedback very seriously and will continue to improve our service from direct customer feedback.
Thanks, the Keycamp team.
Benodet Keycamp - Fantastic Family Fun
We went to Benodet with Keycamp last June with our two pre-schoolers and can't recommend it highly enough. The Keycamp caravans had everything we needed and nothing I was worried about with toddlers. The pool complex was amazing, the indoor part had a roof and could be closed off during rain, of which we had little.
It was close to the town and we cycled in most days for an ice-cream.
This was the first holiday with small children where I actually relaxed, mainly because the campsite means there's OUTDOOR SPACE NOT NEAR WATER! Fantastic.
Fantastic Holidays
We have been holidaying with keycamp for a number of years. We choose a different site each year. We always go ouside the main season as we enjoy the peace and quiet, but if you want lively holidays go midsummer as the campsites are a hive of activity, all ages are catered for, the sites are immaculate as are the mobile homes. The onsite staff are really helpful and friendly and will enjoy joining in with you at your bbqs [if you invite them] We give our particular thanks to Sam and Emma reps at La Paillote last year, we loved them. And if you do a group booking which works out cheaper, you may be fortunate enough to get in touch with Karolyn Spencer she s lovely and extremely helpful 19 of us went last year and had such a great time about 40 of us have booked this year, as we told friends what a great time we had and they were saying we want to come. Change of venue again this year. We are going to salou in May. Thanks Keycamp we recommend you to everyone we meet. GRAHAM AND JEAN JONES ROTHERHAM SOUTH YORKSHIRE
Easy, perfect Holidays For Families With Small Children.-
Keycamp,Les mouettes carantec north Brittany (Plymouth to Roscoff ) May 2011 .
We've found staying in hotels too cramped and restictive for a family holiday and a cottage a little to much like home .Staying on a site with fantastic pools for all ages /park areas/sport /kids clubs ideal-my children haven't yet used the clubs but its great to have the facilities on site whilst still being able to do your own thing in spacious surroundings.
The kids have their own space and so do we in a mobile home and the keycamp accomodation we had last year we could not fault .Scrupulously clean, new and modern with a lovely deck.
We stayed in villagrand accomodation at les mouettes ,carantec Brittany .Great parc and lovely location ,carantec is a peacefull and pretty small town right near the beach.
The patisserie and boulangerie were fantastic as was the butchers and cooking back at the home was never a chore,so much easier and relaxing than a restaurant with young children .Although we did try one or two.You can't beat the breakfast on your deck in the sun with fresh bread and croissants from the site shop in the morning with cheeses, tomatoes and cucumber . Then again the evening red wine outside on the deck all so went down a treat !
The pitches are very spacios not like the caravan parcs here ! There is lovely planting so it feels private and as well as a deck with bar-b-q you get a grass area where we played badminton with a net .
The reps are helpful but could do with more of them on check in day as they personally escort you to the accomodation on cycles it takes a while to get through everyone,we waited an hour which after a long journey you don't really want .But they were doing their best and remained chipper !
Overall great holiday and we're thinking of going futher south being a bit braver with the driving but would be equally happy going back to les mouettes !
The ferry really starts the holiday well and the kids loved the cinema as well as appreciating they were on a ship ,looking at the birds and sea and trying to spot dolphins.A tip -take english money on the ferry ,for some reason its cheaper and considerably so than paying in euro -for example lunch was 30 pounds or over 40 euros !(I think it was 44 euros) That was for a family of five with drinks.
Don't forget that compared with a travel agent package holiday ,Keycamp is not only more affordable but much better value for money ,staying in nicer surroundings in more spacious accomodation.Eg,two weeks for us in school holidays at a 3 star hotel in menorca or greece costs nearly 5-6000! so we can all be squashed into two rooms !Where as at keycamp two weeks school hols with a bedroom each etc comes in around 2500 -no comparison!!!
Camping Bel, La Tranche Sur Mer
We stayed at Camping Bel, La Tranche Sur Mer in June/July 2011 and booked our holiday through Keycamp. From the moment we arrived on site it was perfect. The Keycamp Rep was there to meet us, showed us to our mobile home and gave us the need to know info of the site/town.
The mobile home was clean, good standard of furniture and just what we expected. The pitch was one of the best with three young children (5,3 & 1). Facilities on site were superb with a fantastic kids club (big thank you to Justine who really made our girls holiday) and nightly movies. Tumble Tots also visited the site once a fortnight and the Keycamp reps were first class. The site had plenty of play parks and things to do. We very rarely used the public toliets but when we did they were immaculate.
One minor complaint (but not really a complaint) was that the pool was supposed to be heated but it was freezing cold. From walking around the site (every evening trying to get the baby to sleep) I would say that Keycamp had the better pitches. Keycamp reps were fantastic. We had one minor problem with our water supply and by the time we arrived back at the mobile home, our Keycamp rep had cycled round and fixed it. First class!
The owner of the site was very friendly and security was first class.
A bread man visits the site daily and although delicious, it was very expensive...€10 for 4 croissants and a brioche! Five mins from the campsite is a massive Super U, with everything you need and excellent selection of wine.
La Tranche Sur Mer was a nice town with fantastic beach. There is a good pizzeria beside the beach (at top end away from the town) and highly recommended.
Our holiday was so fantastic that we have already booked to return next year...with Keycamp of course!
Wonderful Pools Best For Families
we stayed at valmarie de bois july/aug2011 2 families in 2 caravans,it took me a few hours to understand that although the caravans are so tightly packed in that you can really have a private holiday. This site has thought of everything you really need and nothing was too much trouble. It is the first holiday when I had to drag the kids away from the pool area-many long faces when the pool area closed at 7pm!!!! It really is a well thought out place and the location couldnt be better-2 min walk to beach and lots of local frindly restaurants-cant wait to go back also the scenery is beautiful.love it.
Austria And Switzerland
this year we went to wolfgart sport camp in austria what a beautiful location, the camp was very clean and the amenaties were very good, there is plenty to do on the camp and off the camp.the scenery was stunning. we rode the grosslockner as we were on a goldwing motor cycle, this was the highlight of the holiday.after seven days we left austria and rode to switzerland over the furka pass which was awsome.the camp itself although small was very well kept, not a lot to do on site but off site plenty to see.you can even go in to italy as we did over the sustan pass, which in its self was fabulous. we rode all the way round lake geneva which took us the whole day,but what a day, stop and have lunch and watch the lake for the sea eagles.all in all a fabulous holiday at two great locations.
Le Clarys Plage, North Vendee
My Family have been 2 times now to Le Clarys Plage in the Vendee we have loved it sooo much that we have booked again for next year too 2012. We are a family of 5, 12yr girl, 10yr girl, and 6 yr boy. We found it easy to find from the Ferry to camp and the Accomodation was fab, clean and big enough for us all to sleep in,it had everything there. We are only round the corner from large super market, just a walk through the camp site to get to it.
The beach is close and 5 min walk. Pool at site lush!! new pirate ship water park opened this year 2011, my kids loved it and so did Dad in the lazy river, plenty beds round pool, snack bar and bar next to pool, the area extremely clean no shoes allowed:-). Keycamp were very true to their word what you bought is what you got!! As we had the car with us we had freedom to explore surroundings there is lots to see and do , we still haven't done it all!!It is the most relaxing holiday ever with the kids, swimming and kids clubs are the key, that makes happy parents.
Easy to book, friendly staff, and reasonably priced!! go for it!!
