2nd Time With Indochina Pioneer, Just As Good

Travelled in Feb 2016 with Indochina Pioneer in northern Vietnam. Travelling with 5 Rotarians as a reward holiday after completing a project in Cambodia. Mr Lam made suggestions for our 8N/9D tour and our entire group, many 1st timers into Vietnam had a fantastic time. We arrived into Hanoi on the coldest day in 60 years, with only summer clothes suitable for Cambodia. No problem, our guide the next day had us at a store buying warm clothes at the right price. He then adjusted he days activities accordingly. We had a problem with our van on the drive up to Sapa the next day, and My Lam had organised a replacement by the next morning, amazing service.

We also enjoyed a cruise on Halong Bay and got a great upgrade to a bigger and better boat. We were met at the airport and departed from Hanoi in the company of our guide, so at no stage did we feel as though we didn't know where to go, which is very comforting in a new country emerging as a tourist destination.

The next time we go to Vietnam, it will be with Indochina Pioneer.

Absolutely Amazing

My husband and I had an amazing three week tour with into China pioneer what are you doing. We were looked after from the minute we booked our holiday until the minute we left. All the hotels that we stayed in what absolutely perfect and we especially love the homestays that were chosen for us. We travelled by luxury coach as well as the train from sapper to Hanoi which was an amazing experience. We chose a private tour and were treated as VIPs we had our own boats we were the only people on each tour and the guides and drivers were absolutely fantastic. We loved everything that was chosen for us to do on our tour and we loved the Vietnamese people. Their hospitality was amazing and the number of houses we were invited into as guests.

The cruise we did on the junk boat was absolutely amazing only regret is that we did not choose to do it longer. We will definitely return and take a longer cruise. If it was not for Indochina pioneer we would not have seen half the The cruise we did on the junk boat was absolutely amazing only regret is that we did not choose to do it longer. We will definitely return and take a longer cruise. If it was not for Indochina pioneer we would not have seen half the attractions or half the places that we went to places we saw.

Indochina Pioneer 19 Day Tour Of Myanmar

This was our first trip to Myanmar . We have traveled to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos with Indochina Pioneer in the past and having had such a great trip chose them to organise our Myanmar trip.

They chose and booked great hotels in Yangon, Kyaing Tong, Kalaw, Inle Lake , Bagan and Mandalay as well as organise excellent tour guides and drivers at those places. All of the guides were most punctual, courteous, knowledgeable and spoke good english.

We wanted to do a short cruise on the Irrawaddy from Bagan to Mandalay and the company selected Amara River Cruises which operate small extremely well founded wooden vessels. Our boat Amara 1 was excellent, comfortable and with friendly attentive staff who took us on excursions and provided us with superb food and service.

We also did a memorable balloon flight in Bagan with Balloons over Bagan which again was organised by Indochina Pioneer.

Our tour in Myanmar was superb, we could not fault the guides and the overall balance of the itinerary.

Well done Indochina Pioneer!

Amazing Holiday

We travelled with Indochina Pioneer to Vietnam and Cambodia in April last year. Although I have backpacked many times through Asia when younger this time we only had two weeks and I was with my husband and two kids. I wanted to be picked up from the airport and transported to the hotel. We only booked a tour of Angkor Wat and one of the Killing Fields the rest of the time we were free to do what we wanted which is what I prefer. Both tours were amazing. We had great tour guides with an inside knowledge of both places and the history of Cambodia. Our transport was clean, efficient and had air conditioner and cold bottled water which was great. Our tour guides and drivers were very friendly. Lam suggested a range of hotels for us to choose from. He also suggested we go by speed boat from Chau Doc, Vietnam up the Mekong in to Phnom Penh, Cambodia which was a great way to travel. The crocodile farm on the way from HMC to Chau Doc was well worth the lunch time stop. We didn't tour in Vietnam this time as we only stopped over on the way in and out of Cambodia.

Mr Lam was patient with my many emails to refine the finer details of our holiday. He always suggested alternatives and was happy for us to change our plans.

I would recommend Indochina Pioneer as a great tour company. My in-laws have since booked with him as well. I will use this company again as we were totally satisfied with them.

Excellent Personable And Knowledgeable Service

I worked with Lam at Indochina Pioneer on a 28 day trip for me and my wife to Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand. I selected Indochina Pioneer after tendering my preliminary itinerary to 4 travel agents. Lam was very responsive including calling me many times to work out the program and he very carefully noted our interests and requests. All of our internal flights, hotels, guides, drivers, admissions and side trips were booked by him and with a few minor exceptions everything worked out perfectly. Most important the guides were first rate and the details of our tours were excellent. He was very helpful and patient with us in offering alternative tours and destinations, and in being honest about different prices and operators. While this was a very small tour for a travel operator, with only 2 people, he treated us like a very valuable client and kept in touch with me all the way through our trip. He even made a point of meeting me at our first destination hotel, and had flowers delivered on my birthday. When we had a small issue with one of the hotels he arranged for a refund of the balance of the booking and had us relocated to a better hotel within 2 hours. Indochina Pioneer offers a number of additional features on its tours that bigger operators ignore like free water, use of a cell phone in Vietnam, and arranging for a visa in Vietnam. I strongly recommend Indochina Pioneer and Lam, and will not hesitate to use the company if I travel again to this part of the world.

Very Well And Executed Planning

This trip of three weeks was well planned with all the members of our family for a family meeting to the end of 2015 and start of 2016. We were happy to note that all the planned sequences were executed with punctuality. Sometimes we had a personal wish which was all the time introduced to the Schedule and done with a smile! Sometimes the guide by himself changed the planning in asking for our approval because the situation was favourable. All the guides with their different personalities were experts in what they were supposed to show us and organize for us. The choice of the supplementary Cruise excursions was fantastique, specially the Emperor Cruise. Two persons of the 9 people group went to Hué and had a fulltime attention all along the two days trip - so the little trip was without any stress. We choose very luxury accomodations, as these three weeks had to be real Holiday too. We were happy to do so and on the other side be free to discover in our free moments the real life in Vietnam. Shopping is really very advantageous in comparision to Europe or Australia... We should have profited of that more. Sometimes we feeled us to much pushed to the "touristic" places, which is not the good image for Vietnam (too much cheap quality). A pitty when on the other side Vietnam produces so nice goods like embroideries, wood furniture or real good Vietnamese fashion. All the snacks good packed are delicious. Too much European cheap products. You are showed coffee productions or rice noodle farms in the old style, but the main industry you don't see them. It was interesting to see the swimming whole-market - that's for daily life of the Vietnameses. But how manages Vietnam with the export goods? I think for a group like ours you can show some of the touristic places like the cascades and National Parks but you have to explain more about geographic and history with supports like TV screens or really good maps in order that Vietnam will better remain in our minds than the bad routes where a little distance takes hours. It is difficult sometimes to understand all the explanations of the guides even if they were perfect - words pass too quick, pictures remain! We are like children infront of them - there is a big item of pedagogic! But nevertheless we were astonished about the high level of studies our guides had!

Our Indo-china Pioneer Experience December 2015

Our friends and close relatives who'd had the Vietnam experience variously said: 'hidden gem','remarkable people','excellent cuisine','scenic country',

'good value for money','very safe' -- all of which we found to be true when our group of 8 visited North Vietnam for a week in Dec. 2015.

We selected Indo-China Pioneer from the good reviews seen on Tripadvisor .

We were impressed by the prompt e-mail responses given by Ruby to our various enquiries , her recommendations of the best sites, her careful tailoring of the itinerary to suit our particular needs , her help with our visas issuance ,and even her waiver of minor charges . Her provision of guide/attendants from the time of our arrival , arrangement of hotels , transport , meals and tickets to attractions were just what we needed as first-time visitors to a new country .

We highly recommend Indo-China Pioneer to all prospective visitors to Vietnam .

5 Night Bespoke Hanoi Tour

We wanted to visit our son who works in Hanoi and combine it with some touring of the sights. Indochina Pioneer put together a flexible itinerary that covered the major sights (including a magnificent Ha Long Bay cruise) while leaving freetime for family. The hotel, transfers, drivers, guides and tours were all first class. I especially appreciated that Ruby who organised the tour had lunch with us one day to make sure we were happy ; first class service !

16 Day Bay To Angkor Tour

We recently completed a 16 Day tour through Vietnam and Cambodia with Indochina Pioneer. the entire tour was professionally organised with fantastic guides, excellent transport, great meals from some of the best small restaurants in Vietnam and outstanding boutique hotel accomodation.

Lam and his team took care of everything with new guides meeting us at the airport of each new city we arrived in and all our bookings were confirmed and awaiting our arrival.

We were unsure who to trust with our holiday booking, we turned to trip advisor for advice, and the recommendations were spot on.

I have full confidence in Indochina Pioneer and recommend their services to any traveller and my friends and family have booked with them as well.
