Hotel Aventino, Rome

From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome. Our room was traditionally furnished and clean. The huge bed was comfortable and extras such as a plentiful supply of towels, a hair-dryer and complementary shower gel and shampoo were appreciated since we had travelled only with hand baggage for our three day stay. The availability of chopped fresh fruit, yogurts, choices of several teas and coffee, cheeses, cold meats, eggs and various breads as well as croissants for breakfast was an excellent start to each day. Since it was raining (our visit took place in January )we were grateful for the umbrella offered to us and also took advantage of the taxi service from the hotel direct to the airport. All staff were friendly and helpful. A short walk from the Circo Massimo and several restaurants, the quiet location suited us well.
