Horrible site

Avoid this website and the service they provide or don't as it would seem to be.

I booked a hotel and check if the booking was at the hotel which was not even though i received a confirmation of the booking ect,

i then called hotel to check and they said they had no record of the booking and have no dealings with hostelbookers.com i though omg what but they took my money and sent me a confirmation with reference number...

Nope nothing had been sent to the hotel I thought at first it was a mistake, but when hotel manager stated it was not booked nor did they have any rooms.

contacted the website and waiting for a refund of my deposits.

Absolutely Awful Avoid!!!!

Please read the email chain from the bottom.

Last week I booked accommodation via this crowd for £257 and then the confirmation advised me it was £332!!

I brought this to the attention of their customer service department who refused to do anything about it, nor cancel the booking minus any cancellation fee's (unless I rebooked another property with them!!)

And now today the property is again being advertised at the lower price I had initially agreed to!!! Absolute con!!

HostelBookers,

I will NOT be making another booking with Hostelbookers full stop.

You will only refund me if I make another booking with a company who has offered me a product at £xx and charged me a totally different price??? I am in shock !!!

I will be passing the below onto trading standards immediately.

Regardless of your I.T excuse which is completely irrelevant to the fact as a customer I have agreed and paid for one price and conveniently your rates have changed by the time it takes my payment to process and the confirmation page to appear, informing me of the 29% increase in price which I have NOT agreed to pay.

Deposit Taken No Booking Made

I don't really know how to say this in any other than a totally negative way.

i then called hotel to check and they said they had no record of the booking and have no dealings with hostelbookers.com i though omg what but they took my money and sent me a confirmation with reference number...

Nope nothing had been sent to the hotel i would have thought maby it was a mistake a one off error,

i was wrong i contacted my friend who i was meeting up with at the hotel who booked through same site turns out his booking had not been made either.

contacted the website and they did refund our deposits.

luckily we where able to get rooms at another hotel given the lateness of our booking.
