Very Unpleasant To Deal With And I Beleive Unscrupulous!
A full 6 weeks on from a most unpleasant experience in Turkey - we, and two other couples were robbed by a member of the hotel staff - I can confirm that the incident is documented and acknowledged by the travel agent themselves, Elixir Holidays - they are directly affiliated with the hotel in question, and others in Turkey.
I simply can not forget what happened and therefore allow unsuspecting members of the public to use this company. Their MD openly accused me of blackmail on Trip Advisor - which TA removed promptly upon my complaint.
Whilst I respect that this review could be considered by the reader as my opinion, I repeat that what happened has been admitted by Elixir holidays themselves.
Beware. Use only a travel agent accredited by ABTA.
I just happened upon this review after searching for an alternative to Trip Advisor to leave my own comments.
I have used this tour operator Elixir over the last four years and have had only the most positive experiences because they use their own luxury cars and very small boutique hotels which are perfect for me.
I understand that they don't sell other people's products just their own so they are not ABTA but are a registered ATOL company with the Civil Aviation Authority...
As the earlier comment suggests, why would you blame the whole staff and the organisers (tour operators), of your holiday when someone steals from you? Yes, I called them up and asked them if they had a problem in their staffing mentioning this review. Elixir said that in 2012 a dishonest member of staff took some money out of two guests' rooms and the hotel manager called the police....
Several days after this another guest said that he too lost some money in the same manner and Elixir decided that although it was odd that it took so long to find out about the loss, they compensated the guest in full anyway.
Does this sound like a company who doesn't do the best for their clients? Not my experience. I'll be travelling with Elixir again this year, last year I did not go due to ill health and I am looking forwards to my two week, two centre holiday in Kas and Kalkan again...
When someone or a company is good, they should not be rubbished as it's very hard to find more dedicated people than those hardworking friendly staff in Turkey.
Thank you...
Even if a member of staff in a small boutique hotel in Turkey was dishonest, surely each member of the workforce cannot be blamed for this act? By the way, what do the booking agents have to do with another's faults?
