I called Bold Travel and spoke to an advisor who offered me 2 tickets to Lagos for myself and my sister for £535.00 per passenger. He then asked us to submit two separate payments of £50.00 into the company’s HSBC account in order to secure the seats. I promptly transferred the funds into the account and called to inform him. I was then instructed by email from him to make the remaining payments of £970.00 per passenger into the same account by 6th June 2013 in order to receive confirmation of the tickets. My sister then made the payments by transfer from her Halifax account into the HSBC account we initially paid the deposit to. I also called him to inform him immediately that i had paid in full and he informed me that the ticked will be issued within 24hrs. He then sent me an email confirming my full payment had been received as well as ticket and airline reference numbers. I did not hear from him again so I called again and was unable to get hold of him but left a number of messages. I rang Arik air to confirm if the reservations have been made but we were told an agent made a reservation in our names but were told they had until the 6th June 2013 to make payment in full for the ticket to be issued. However, as no payment was made, the reservation was cancelled. We have since been trying to get hold of him on all the numbers on the website but the calls keep going to an automated voicemail. We have tried to retrieve the money from the banks but were advised that as this was a bill payment, they are unable to dispute the transaction or recall the funds.
