Not For The Discerning Traveller
I am unsure of how much time their agents have actually spent in South America after my experience with them. They outsource to local tour operators and don't seem to have any knowledge of the tours they are recommending, or what the most efficient way to go about it is. For example, I spent 6 hours on a public bus and then 5 hours in a car from La Paz to Uyuni and later found out there are a few 1 hour flights daily that were well within budget. One of the few hotel bookings they made for me somehow got "lost" when I arrived in Santiago. They neglected small details, like adding frequent flyer numbers (even when prompted) or sending through new flight confirmation codes needed to check in. Even if you know absolutely nothing about the region and are fine with bog standard tours, I can't understand why anyone would choose them over Audley as they are just as expensive. It's possible that it is an understaffing issue (my agent seemed very rushed), but I would never ever use them again.
We just travelled to Colombia with jla and were frankly disappointed. Having previously done argentina then Ecuador with kuoni we had very high expectations, and although Colombia itself is wonderful, we could have had a more memorable time with countless other companies. We specified our interests and preferences for 'off the beaten track' areas yet were sent to the most touristic 'highlights' of the country and then weren't given enough information about various possible excursions, and the ground agents, called neptuno promotora, seemed to know nothing of the country or culture. The hotels were all wonderful but they were all selected by myself and luckily I'm the sort of person that does a lot of research on a country and areas. Like I said, we had a good time but not enough effort was put into our itinerary, maybe audley or last frontiers would have been a lot better.

Excellent Service In Every Way.
I shall fly to Argentina on a 3 week holiday very shortly. All the arrangements were made by Journey Latin America and I have nothing but the highest praise for this company. The whole booking process , from beginning to end , was faultless. Every question I asked in an email was answered promptly and efficiently and the advice given was sound . A few years ago, this same company arranged a concert tour for my choir in Argentina and, again, we were delighted with the service provided by them -even for a large group such as ours. I would recommend this company .
