Cities Of Lights- May 18th
Our 2nd viking river cruise .I didn't think it could get better but I was wrong it was fantastic. The tours were very well chosen, beautiful scenery and the tour guides were very informative. The Viking staff made each of us feel special and were so helpful and friendly .The food was amazing and we couldn't wait for our next meal.I couldn't fault anything.Thank you Viking for a wonderful experience hopefully we can travel with you again.
Cla Game Fair
We had a wonderful cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. The staff were all very helpful and I found it very relaxing. We were unable to take part in a lot of the excursions as my husband is a part time wheelchair user but that didn't matter. We saw some beautiful scenery and the weather was glorious. We had a suite and for us the extra space was worth every penny!
Fabulous River Cruise
We set off on our Viking River Cruise at the end of April, not being quite
sure what to expect. On first sight, the ship looked sleek and elegant. As we got on board, we noticed that the condition of the ship was first class; no chipped paintwork or dirty skirting boards. It was ship shape.
We went in to have lunch which was varied and delicious. There was a good
selection to choose from and the quality of the food was excellent. We ordered our drinks and from then on the waiter remembered what we had ordered and brought the same drinks to us from then on.
Our cabin was adequate but we would have preferred to have had a window
at shoulder level rather than so high up. The toiletries were excellent
and smelled sweetly. The young woman who cleaner our cabin was courteous
and pleasant and always got us what we wanted. She even made a fuss of me
on my birthday leaving sweets and a towel in the shape of a birthday cake.
The trips out most mornings were enjoyable and informative but sometimes the trip leader would go into too much detail and it lost interest in the
address being made.
It was lovely floating aboard the ship without any turbulence. This was
the one thing I hated from our one experience of cruising to the Caribbean.
The waiters and waitresses were very amenable and always willing to go out
of their way to help us. I am diabetic and when I asked about a diabetic
dessert, it was promptly offered to me by our waiter in no time at all.
The food was of an excellent standard and a pleasure to look at as it was
always beautifully presented.
I would have liked some entertainment in the afternoons, ie a demonstration, a talk or a film. The evenings only had a couple of evenings when musical entertainment were offered. We really enjoyed them
and would have welcomed more evenings with entertainment.
We would love to go on more of your cruises, the only thing holding us back
would be the cost.
We would highly recommend Viking River Cruises as the one we experienced
on the Danube was first class and certainly met the 5 star standard.
The Vikings Are Doing It Better!!
Right from the word go it appeared that this was going to be good.
The reception party all smiling, the warm towels, and then the room! Fab.
This is a cruise where you know you are going to get spoi
led.
The meals were something else, well we were very impressed.Quite spectacular.
The excursions were superb,no one needed to rush,or wait for hours,I can say it was a really good cruise!

Cruising Indochina's Present And Past
We were on a week-long Viking cruise along the Mekong river, taking in Vietnam and Cambodia, with a week's land arrangements tacked on to the end and the beginning. From Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon)we joined our small ship (fewer than 60 passengers)and cruised slowly across the border into Cambodia, where we moored at Phnom Penh, the capital. After disembarking, we were driven to Siem Reap for a three-night stay featuring the magnificent centuries-old temples in and around Angkor Wat. Then we flew to Hanoi for two more days before returning home. Some of the Americans among the passengers were returning to Vietnam for the first time after serving in the American army there in the sixties and seventies, which added an extra dimension to the trip. The mainly Cambodian crew gave impeccable service throughout and the food - a judicious mixture of eastern and western cuisines - was magnificent.
We'll Keep On Sailing
Always top service, excellent food and a clean ship!
Waterways Of The Tsars
We have just returned from a 12 night river cruise on the Volga-Baltic Waterway, travelling from Moscow to St Petersburg.
We spent 3 nights in Moscow and our included excursions took us to all the best known sights from The Kremlin and Red Square, the iconic St Basil's Cathedral, the GUM store, the Cosmonaut Museum, to an evening canal boat ride seeing Moscow all lit up at night, we even took a ride on the famous Moscow Metro where the stations are an artwork themselves.
Then we left Moscow and there were 6 nights of relaxing sailing the waterway, passing thriugh several locks and visiting some interesting traditional Russian villages on the way to St Petersburg.
More wonderful excursions during our 3 night stay in St Petersburg. From The Hermitage to the fantastic palaces of Catherine and Peterhof and a visit to the ballet, Swan Lake as well as the Peter and Paul Fortress and St isaac's Cathedral.
Our ship, Viking Ingvar was refurbished in 2013 and was very comfortable. Our cabin on the middle deck had a lovely balcony where it was great to sit and relax as we sailed along the waterway. It was not always the best place to sit when we were docked as the ship was often docked between other river ships.
All in all a great cruise which afforded us a fascinating glimpse into Russia.
China At It's Very Best
A life long memory thanks to Viking. A wonderful trip to China. Everything spot on :- Travel, The River Boat, Staff and Guide. Could not fault a thing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was my 4th trip with Viking, all top class. DONT go with any other .
Relaxed, Informative River Cruises
River cruises offer an opportunity to enjoy independence within an organised frame-work. Viking offer an excellent standard of facilities and catering on board their river cruises. The standard of guides, both on and off the boat in local areas, has been very high - we have traveled with them in China, Russia and within Europe. Lectures have been informative but accessible with good walking tours to follow on shore. Importantly time is then also allowed for independent exploration - the only proviso being returning on board before the boat sails. Care is taken to provide walking groups that encompass a range of abilities and speeds and on board staff are expected to provide a high standard of service. It is unfortunate that not all cabins offer balconies and also that the main lounge has not sufficient chairs to accommodate everyone for lectures and programme briefings. This can lead to rushing to bag seats or sitting on the floor. However, these are minor inconcveniences in an otherwise excellent standard of holiday provision from the moment one arrives at an airport until one is dropped off for departure.
