I bought an advance ticket but selected off peak times and thought the tickets was off peak, apparently it wasn’t and I got charged £50 as a penalty,
For a service that is usually over sold, understaffed, outdated, delayed or cancelled I find this quite appalling , I accept I got the wrong ticket and offered to pay the difference however that was not good enough for the privatised company seeking to profit more at every given chance, they fined me and made me buy a new ticket, a one way ticket from Leeds to Manchester cost me £75, whilst a fly to Berlin bag included cost me £50.
Nothing on the website is clear and off course this was included in the terms and conditions not on the main page, neither I was given the option of selecting just off peak trains.. why?
