Called Able Group as our shower leaked through the kichen ceiling and we had to turn the water off. I should have known better when the lady who took my call said we had to ensure the plumber could get to the leaking pipe, ie take the tiles off the bathroom wall to expose the pipes behind. I can't do that, and my 90 year old friend certainly couldn't. Bloke turned up. Wanted my husband to cut an enormous hole in the kitchen ceiling. “Terrible Customer Service”

Terrible terrible customer service, came out to fix a leaking pipe. A month and a half later the pipework then split, when I called up to report it they sent the same guy out who looked at it, said he would need to speak to the business and then they would give me a call about how to progress. They then didn't call, I called them two days later. They sent round two jokers to unblock our drains. They had tea, sent texts and did very little. They then said it was because the drains needed to be rebuilt and there was nothing they could do. We told them we would not pay until we'd had a second opinion because we were unhappy with the work. We had a second opinion within a couple of days, he was a real expert, he assessed what the problem was and told us what we needed to do (for very little cost) to permanently fix the issue. I wish I had read some of these reviews to avoid my own bad experience. I called the plumber to check what was wrong with water temperature in the shower. To do this, all what was needed was to remove the panel, handles and take the cartridge out - check whether it works / is it right part and order a new one. Pretty plain vanilla job but this was invoiced as two hours work. As such straightforward task, this was totally unreasonable. My folks boiler was leaking, my dad called Worcester Bosch who couldn't come out till Thursday. Unfortunately he made the mistake of calling these people. The guy came & started by filling in paperwork, said its £72 every half hour. Pointed out fault after fault before checking what he was here for. My 76 year old mother realised she had a leaking toilet when water started dripping through her kitchen ceiling. She contacted Able who said someone would be with her between 2pm-7pm that day (Wednesday). Someone called at 6pm to say the person had gone "sick" and no one could make it until Friday. DEFINATELY AVOID! Waited in all day from 8am-6pm! when it got to about 5.30pm rang to see they had not forgot me! The person that answered the phone rang the engineer and then told me he would be with me from 5.35-6.00pm as he was still on a job and i was next, his last job! I called Able group owing to a problem with my sink in the bathroom which was blocked and required an urgent visit as the pipe was leaking as I had try to fix the problem myself and broke the seal. When I spoke to the agent, I had a lengthy conversation regarding the issues mentioned and also mentioned that there was a smell coming from the drains so assumed this was as a result of the blockage in the bathroom sink. Called Able Group on the 21/05/2020 to iradcate a massive bee problem in the side of our property. Engineer came out amd tried his best to deal with the problem, he informed us that if the bees had not gone at the end of 7 days we where to call back, so they could come and try again free of charge. They charged £130 to take 5 minutes to unblock toilet. It blocked again 10 hours later. We rang them - they kept us waiting 12+ hours then said they would come out, but it would be chargeable because (they said) it was a different blockage. Absolutely do not use this company absolutely terrible. First phone call we were quoted £131 ( plus vat, but they mumbled that as we got the recording off them) the man came out and gave us the order form thing and we didbt wish to go ahead with the job as we didnt hear the +vat and they still took payment out. Going by all these reviews they are the worst company ever. I don't knkw how they sleep at night. If I could give them a no start review I would.... Absolutely disgusted with the lack of customer service, and communication at Able group. Called emergency gas safe engineer on 31/03/20 as boiler was leaking, paid £86.40 for 15mins of his time to tell me had a leak on heat exchange. Was told he would call the next day with price to repair. No call, so week later I call customer service to find out why I had no response, was told it would be investigated and I would be called at the end of that day. I have dealt with many service companies over the years and I have dealt with issues before, however, nothing compares to the ridiculously disgraceful so-called service that Able Group provided to me. The engineer turned up very late with no notification of this. Quoted me a fair price for a shower fit and supply. Were 8 hours late for the appt and didn't have a shower with them to fit. Then went off to buy a shower and said they'd be back shortly and said it was a very straightforward job. Shocking, awful, shy***ers, disgusting that a company like this has survived in the Uk, zero integrity and driven to maximise revenue rather than do a decent job for a fair value. Had a leak around my taps. Replaced with a new unit and was here for 40 minutes. Bill was £332!!! Charged me £145 for a plain looking taps unit replacement, £122 labour + VAT and was here for around 40 minutes. But difficult to argue once work is done and bill raised.
