Great bike for long distance touring at speed

97 BMW 1200rs owed for 13 years, been around Europe from Northern England to Berlin to Poland to Italy to South of France to Southern Spain. Never let me down. Only problems over the years were a new clutch due to main seal failure, and new slave cylinder for the rear brake.
Its so stable that I cruised at 140mph through Germany with one hand on the throttle and the other arm resting on the tank bag. Tends to flatten the rear tyre with too many motorway miles and could do with a longer range. Once left Barcelona at 7pm to arrive in Northern England at 11am next morning (including ferry). Heavy in slow traffic and seat could do with more adjustments (I've short legs) otherwise great bike for the price, BMW dealer servicing can be expensive but most tasks can be done at home with a bit of thought (I did the clutch myself, dealer wanted £1800).
My first BMW and would recommend.
