I bought a microwave from Lidl 2.5 years ago with a 3 year guarantee. It broke down on Monday so I rang their customer service the same day. Good job I still had the receipt that's all the details they asked and they sent me an email with a post label for Germany attached.

Lidl and Aldi's 3 year warranties are great. I'd rather get a relatively unknown brand from them because they seldom fail and, if they do, you're covered like this.

I guess you just haven't dealt with John Lewis recently - REALLY gone down for after sales service on more than one occasion.
