r_beacon's review of Ken Follett, The Pillars of the Earth

“Wonderfully engaging but tiring”

Written on: 22/03/2016 by r_beacon (1 review written)

This is a riveting book. That is the first thing to say. It is also poorly written, but I confess I was so caught up in the plot that I didn't care until towards the end when it grew wearying. The characters show a strong sense of female strength and I can only applaud the aims of the author. Do give it a read, although I can't face the sequel for a few years yet.
