I Think That Barnsley's Oakwell Stadium Is A Reall
I think that Barnsley's Oakwell Stadium is a really lovely stadium, if only more people went to the matches then the atmosphere would be ever better. Its a shame, the stadium was full when we were in the Premiership, where are all those fans now.
The West Stand: The Only Part Of The Original Stad
The west stand: The only part of the original stadium that still remains, and despite somewhat restricted views and modest facilities, the west stand remains a popular vantage point for many fans today. Plans for refurbishment were drawn out, however after years of misfortune for the club, and subsequently reduced gates, this proposition is unlikely to go ahead in the near future.
East stand: This large, modern, two tiered structure, built in march 1993 is home to around 7450 home fans, although due recent seasons of low attendances, the stand is rarely fully utilised. The East stand became the first in yorkshire to introduce executive boxes.
The Enterprise PLC Stand: Often referred to as the ponty end or the ORA stand (the name of the old sponsor) this stand offers home supporters with many facilities including the Box office and the Reds Superstore.
The North stand (Away): Home to over 6,000 away supporters, however very rarely utilised. This 4.5m structure has been a cause for debate ever since it opened, however at the time Barnsley FC were planning on a possible return to the premiership.

Oakwell Stadium Barnsley - As You Can Probably Tel
Oakwell Stadium Barnsley - As you can probably tell by the name am a Barnsley fan and i think that in Oakwell we have a lovely modern stadium. Infact it's too big for us at the minute. It has a capacity of 23,009 but seen as we are currently in League 1 only get an average gate of 9,000 - 10,000 although we have a lot of local derbies where the gates are higher. It is a very nice stadium and infact there are quite a lot of nice stadiums in League 1! My favourites are Forest, Huddersfield, Swansea and Bradford along with Barnsley's. The atmosphere (except from local games) as you could imagine in a more than half empty stadium is pretty non existent but we try our best to resolve that! The design is quite good as i'm sure anyone who has been to Oakwell since it has been virtually all redone will agree! The refreshments though are pretty pricey, for example Lucozade - £1.60! Value for money is exceptional as you get to watch the Super Reds! Haha.
