Cortech Cortech Disc 54mm

At first, I doubted Cortech. I thought it was a marketing scam. How can the hub inside make wheels go faster? Shouldn't the hub be around the bearings, not between them? How can a hub, between the bearings, although it goes deep into the wheel (about half way) make them better? does anyone care? The point is, the wheels work, perfectly, no problems. The load impact is reduced on the bearings and the wheels are printed on both sides (so you don't need to whinge that the corporate advertising wears off when you land primo'd). They feel so smooth, that when I rode my mates Rictas (which flat spotted not ten minutes later, though he bought them the day before). The Cortech were definitely my choice, aside the HEFTY price tag ($69 at Manly Blades) there is no reason you should not buy there. best set of wheels EVER. I'm glad to ride them. Cortech for ever, lest we forget :-)

I thought the Cortech were nice for $20 (15 USD) but, it turned out, that that was the price for EACH SINGLE WHEEL. Their site is on about superior gravity pouring methods, coz noone really knows what it is, and so they believe that it's good. Gravity pouring is normal, and 2 durometers is nice, brilliant, BRILLIANT. It's a one piece wheel, not two, and they chemically bond the two pieces to become one, but I wouldn't pay $80 for a set of wheels, a deck maybe, but not a set of wheels. If the company email me at and tell me they can personally sell me a set for under $50, then I'll consider them, and recommend them, and I know, as a fact, that people in Sydney would ride them if they knew they can only get them in Australia, but until then, the Kewday 54mm's are the business.

I've had my Cortech Disc wheels for a while now. They're mid range in the hardness department - 98a, but feel softer due to the disc technology. Basically, it's a dual hardness - 'hub' (inside) is softer, while 'tire' (outside) is harder. This equals less wear on the wheel, with a smooooth ride.

The only thing I didn't like was the boring graphic. It's almost corporate. I couldn't even wait to skate it off... so I sanded it!

On all counts, a highly recommended set of wheels.
