Mar Menor Golf Resort

Please note that this review relates to the golf course and related welcome in the middle of January.

The course itself is in reasonable condition, but relies totally on bunkers to protect itself, and those themselves are short on sand. It is flat and is always surrounded by the villas and apartments and as such is not at all scenic. Not a course to be enjoyed by the committed golfer.

The complex reminded us of the opening scene out of 28 Days Later (without the 'Infected'). It was deathly quiet and lacking in any atmosphere whatsoever. Quite clearly it has a significant proportion of it's estate unsold or not occupied, even relative to the time of the year.

It may be different in high season, maybe as evidenced by other reviews but I would advise to stay clear especially if golf is your motivation to go.
