Joined The New Chatham Gym Around A Week Ago, Star

Joined the new chatham gym around a week ago, started ok but the cheap prices seem to drag in all sorts and the atmosphere (especially in the free weights area) is horrible. Loads of young lads in groups hanging around. More like a teenagers rec centre than a gym ! Won't be wasting any more of my money at that dive !! Nice gym (only because its new), I believe with the volume of people in that place the equipment will go downhill rapidly, very very over crowded, opening times are not the same as listed online either, but overall just an absolutely terrible gym !!!!! But what do you expect for £10.99

Rip Off

My Son paid £100 and joined Trugym Wolverhampton early this year.

The following day it had closed and shut down without any notice.

How could the staff take the money dishonestly when they new that this was going to happen.

Tried Customer Services but had no luck.

Avoid at all cost !

Poor, Poor, Poor.

In good faith I paid to join up to Gillingham new trugym back in October 2014, it was advertised to be opening early November 2014. The money left my account and from that date I have never heard anything from them.

I posted on twitter but was never provided with a response, when I finally got fed up I requested a refund due to the terrible customer service that I had received. This resulted in TruGym blocking me me on twitter. I also send two emails through to them and I never even received an acknowledgement let along a response.

Never in my life have I experienced such poor customer service......

After Only A Couple Of Weeks Of Being A Member At

After only a couple of weeks of being a member at TruGym Stockton the problems started. I appreciate that it is a budget gym and the range of equipment is adequate. However I have a major issue with the classes that are run as well as the management of the club.

The main reason that I joined is for the Les Mills Combat class. It was ideal as there is a Friday class at 5:30. However the classes was so poor that after a number of weeks I decided to complain about the class as well as another issue (can’t discuss here due to a continuing legal case). The gym did not respond to my complaint.

After further investigation and a recorded admission from the instructor - I discovered that he was not actually a qualified Les Mills instructor. He said he cannot remember the last time he did any training - it has been at least 2 years (and you can tell, the classes are a world apart from other Les Mills classes in other local gyms!!). Les Mills instructors are required to complete updated training twice a year to remain accredited.

So far, after over 20 written requests, the gym and its director refuse to tell me if any of the instructors are actually up to date - which they are required to do by Les Mills UK. This suggests to me that they know they are not up to date. After I produced the evidence that I collected about the instructor, the gym have eventually cancelled the contract. I am still waiting for a refund and the information about the instructors..

If you want a real Les Mills class, or any customer service, go to another gym!

Excellent

Does what it says, a no nonsense gym. As long as you have a fitness regime the equipment is here. Nuff said

Tryed To Miss Lead Me Read The Contract Carefully

I wanted to join 14.99 as the large banner said but as I was signing up the price changed to 19.99 with a joining fee of 20 pounds and a 12 month rolling contract not what the banner said the banner says 14.99 a month,no joining fee .no contracts. They did not care and I would not trust them with my details STAY AWAY the owners were present and just did nut care they said the banner should have been taken down month ago FALSE ADVERTISING WONT BE JOINING HERE

Avoid ! You Get What You Pay For

Joined Maidstone Trugym and have now cancelled after a couple of months, I tried but the place is cheap but not cheerful!

When I emailed the gym on several occasions they have never replied in fact the only reply I had is when I wanted to join

The place is filthy especially the toilets and changing rooms and the leg presses was broken for months

I have gone back to David Lloyd it costs more but its quality

Trugym is very unhelpful and unprofessional avoid like the plague

Does What Is Says On The Tin

This guy isn't anything high tech or fancy it does exactly what it says it does. You can go at anytime, have a good work out and go home. It suits me especially as the price is cracking!

Ok(ish) But Nothing Exceptional.

I wasn't impressed by this gym. Customer service was poor and the gym came across as being more suited to younger males, particularly college students (and they offer quite a few student promotions). I didn't find the staff helpful or the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. It's was a case of solo exercisers with headphones in and head down or groups if guys going through their weight/fitness regimes.

If you are after a no frills gym only package then I would suggest looking around the area first. There is another gym of this type which has just opened near the train station and after a quick look around I would say it comes across as being much better and a more relaxed, cleaner place to work out than TruGym - but the proof will be in the testing.
