Dunnings Mill Is Really The Easyjet Of The Fitness

Dunnings Mill is really the Easyjet of the fitness world. It's cheap and therefore popular, but you have to make up your mind about what is important to you.

You Get What You Pay For. Dunnings Is A Budget Gym

You get what you pay for. Dunnings is a budget Gym. Inadequate staffing, poor staff training, unprofessional staff, hidden costs, shabby and poorly maintained.

Inadequate staffing: In the morning and afternoon only one gym instructor is on duty, so no help during meal breaks. This is made worse by the fact that staff are allowed to do personal training while on duty, so again, if you need help when they are doing personal training, forget it.

Staff training: All the main gyms in Sussex require their staff to be REPS registered. Although Gym staff at Dunnings are qualified, none are REPS registered, which means they do no have to update their skills yearly.

Unprofessional staff: The boundary between staff and members is sometimes blurred, and I have witnessed staff talking about members to other members.

Hidden charges: In addition to your membership, you will be asked to pay extra for the use of certain machines, e.g. the vibrating plate machine.

Shabby and poorly maintined: The gym is very shabby, and poorly maintained, so if you are contemplating membership, look at the paintwork, chipped tiles etc, and note whether things are working - particularly the jaccussi, and steam room, which are often out of order.
