If You Like Brand Names Then Dont Even Think About
If you like brand names then dont even think about buying the 8xc, but if your willing to look beyond the brand, you will be hooked. Its my second bike from decathlon and wont be my last.
I managed to buy mine as an ex demo for £850 but the original price was £1350. I would suggest trying to buy at sale time to get even more bike for your money.
Originally, I was only going to use it off road, now I ride it to work on the road wheels and then swap them for the Mavic's when I hit the rough stuff.
It's one hell of a bike. 10/10 in my view.
The specification of the bike is superb for the price. I have the 2007 model and it uses the a combination Sram X0 for the rear and XT for the front.
Brakes are juicy 7, awesome stopping power and pad contact can be adjusted with the dial.
Forks are very so smooth in operation. The Rock Shox SID RACE forks also come with the shock pump for adjustment.
The italia SLR Saddle was a little hard but I am now used to it. I have been told it is the racers choice, but looks fab, Its real leather and has titainum rails, 135 grams!!
The wheels are another bonus, MAVIC SLR tubeless look stunning. It you were to buy the wheels seperately, they would cost you £600 a set!! another great things is the bike come with a second set training wheels on 700c tires, rear cog and disc brakes pre installed. Great for riding on the road.
The bike is also very light. 10.5 kg and it actually feels lighter than that in real life.
