All In All A Fantastic "city Commuter". Bargain Pr
All in all a fantastic "city commuter".
Bargain price (I paid £229.00 from t'internet!)
Comfortable ride
Seriously quick fold/unfold
On delivery, there was very little info (none in fact!!) on how to assemble & set the front brakes and wheel etc. I ended up taking it to a bike shop and paying someone to do it for me.
My bike seems to be constantly slipping out of 1st gear. Maybe it's a fault(?), but very annoying having to "hold" the gearshift solidly whilst in fast meddle mode. The Dahon Jack hybrid bike is a very good bike.

It's a good bike and to be honest it's exellent for urban use. Ever since I bought the bike 14 Aug 08 I have not caught or used any other public or private transport - apart from once where I had to call for a taxi because of really heavy rain and when I called the taxi company and asked for a normal size cab - they sent a minibus...whow!.
I use it for work, leisure and even going to town shopping (3 mile one way) it has all the tools required (Y - Allen key) is the answer to everything.
Plus when you fold it, it has a leg where to stand without you need to worry about the chain or floor getting dirty, one thing I am thinking of adding is getting folding pedals because it would help you when commuting in train or buses.
Also another good point is that they supplied a Tippex size bottle paint for any scratches that may occour - and believe me they will.
Don't forget to get yourself a good lock

I Read Up On Folding Bikes For A Fair While Before
I read up on folding bikes for a fair while before buying one. My initial inclination was towards a Brompton but I was put off by the price, waiting list, size of wheels and the price. The Dahon Jack has in fact exceeded my expectations of it. I really chuck it about and abuse it and it comes back for more. People are intrigued by it on the train and thats where it really comes into its own, allowing me to bike, train, bike. I now hate the days when my wife makes me take the car!
