“Netball ”

★★★★★

written by on 22/02/2013

I had not played netball for YEARS, the last time I had played I was still in school uniform and so was a little apprehensive when debating whether to join Go Mammoth. Luckily for me, I jumped in feet first when faced with the choice of Gym or Netball. At the end of the day competition is always a great motivator when looking to get active, and playing as part of a team definitely motivates you to get down to the courts each week. I LOVED EVERY MOMENT and it is exactly as they say, just like riding a bike, you never really forget. If you are on the fence and wondering if this is for you don't. Get a friend or two, or even a full team together and sign up for one of the leagues. You will be surprised how addictive it is, and in no time at all will be OBSESSED. Anyway, don't just take my word for it, try it out!

“One word... FUN! ”

Definitely the best thing I've done so far in 2013! I was a little nervous about signing up as an individual for dodgeball, which I had also never played before, but my team have fast become new friends. It is so much fun in fact that I also to signed up for mixed basketball! Get involved!

“Pilates and Abs in Putney”

★★★★★

written by on 14/02/2013

I'm really enjoying the Pilates classes and they're really helping improve my posture and my moods. I work long hours and have a stressful job and I find Pilates is a nice physical challenge and also quite relaxing. The teacher is lovely and despite there being such a large class, she manages to help everyone out and really keeps an eye on us. I really like the class time of 6:45 as well, it means I'm home by 8 which is quite a civilized time. It's also a nice touch to have the t-shirts, it makes me feel a part of something and it's cool to get free stuff too :-) haha. I certainly hope there will be another Pilates class after the 8 weeks is over.

Great organisation, friendly players, good competition and a great social aspect to each of the leagues. I have played across London in a few of the leagues and each of them has great people playing!

“Balham and Brbican Indoor Volleyball ”

★★★★★

written by on 13/02/2013

I have no complaints about the Mon Barbican (6v6 indoor volleyball) or the Wed Balham (6v6 indoor volleyball) evenings. I enjoy both of them immensely! And I've met some lifelong friends through it. Looking forward to/hoping there will be beach volleyball offered again this summer.

“Fitness, Fun & Friendly!”

★★★★★

written by on 13/02/2013

It's a great way to keep fit, ignite that competitive spirit from within and have an all-round good time. The matches run very smoothly on a Monday, with the umpires both fair and supportive in their approach. And I found the netball clinic which runs on a Saturday morning really useful and engaging, making everyone from beginners to pros's feel comfortable and welcome. It's a Londoner must do - take your weekly stress out on the court.

“Keep fit and have fun!”

★★★★★

written by rippasmith9 on 11/02/2013

I joined the netball league to meet some new people and play a sport that I really enjoy but haven't played much since school! There are so many venues and nights to choose from that it's easy to find something that will suit you! I joined my first season as a single player but quickly became a member of the team - I've met a great bunch of girls and we organise lots of stuff socially ourselves, as well as try to attend the big Go Mammoth socials, which is a great way of meeting people from other teams and finding out things about other sports that you are curious about! It's great fun and a great way to keep active!

“Great way to keep fit, have fun and make new friends”

★★★★★

written by isy55891 on 06/02/2013

I joined Go Mammoth on the hunt for regular exercise and to take part in a competitive but fun league of Netball and I found exactly that. The league is a great standard - competitive but not silly. It is brilliantly organized, with 2 umpires, a nice court, good kit and great atmosphere. We simply turn up, play and go home hassle free. We get emailed every week with our next fixture and our league rating is all posted online so you can keep an eye on how you’re doing. Times of your matches vary each week between 7-9pm so they are at a great time for people finishing work. Thrilled I joined, and my team and I will certainly be signing up next season! Great way to keep fit, have fun and make new friends.

“Great Customer Service”

★★★★★

written by JadeLloyd on 25/01/2013

I would like to mention the great customer service GOMammoth provide. Since my first day of enquiring about Netball I had spoken to Rose Martin. She was extremely helpful, provided all the information I needed. I unfortunately could not make Netball but had paid for it.. Rose kindly went out of her way to process a refund. I want to thank Rose for all the great support!! Thanks :) x

“Get along to GO Mammoth!!”

★★★★★

written by Jennat49 on 16/11/2012

My friend decided that while we take some time off from Ultimate Frisbee training we should keep active and try our hand at a new sport. So she entered us into beginner volleyball. First week we turned up with 12 players... Absolute keenos!! But we left our first game even more excited than we had arrived. It was awesome to have a go at a new sport and our competitive natures have made for a very fun and often entertaining set of games. The staff are fantastic, enthusiastic and always happy to help. We have won and lost in 2 sets and the referees are always more than happy to ref a final set for the keen beans amongst us. I would thoroughly recommend getting involved with GO Mammoth, it's a great way to get or stay active what ever your sporting ability.

“Awesome!”

★★★★★

written by on 16/11/2012

My friend recommended GO Mammoth to me, as I used to play Netball at School so I thought I would sign up for a season and give it a go. To be honest, I was a bit nervous as none of my friends wanted to join with me so I joined on my own. I actually rang up and had a chat with someone at Go Mammoth and she explained the different types of leagues and suggested the best one for me. I have been playing now for about 6 weeks, and my team (we were all individuals) have now re-signed up together for next season. I absolutely love it. My team are awesome, the venue is great and so are the ref’s. For me it’s perfect, as I am stupidly unorganised. Rose the GM Netball Lady is really helpful if we are ever short on players, and that and the game reminders mean I never have to miss a match. The social side of Go Mammoth is an added bonus. We have been to the sponsor pub a few times, and actually met a few guys & girls from other nearby Go Mammoth leagues which was cool. I also went to the Halloween Party which was a really good night. I would recommend Go Mammoth to anyone, I can definitely see why they are the most popular Netball leagues in London. Thanks for getting me off the sofa J

“Loads of Fun”

★★★★★

written by Plavin on 16/11/2012

I used to play volleyball at school and wanted to get back into it after watching some during the Olympics. GO Mammoth had the ideal set up for this. It was really easy to register and pay, and that’s all I had to do. The league runs really smoothly and has a great atmosphere thanks to the GO Mammoth staff and other players. I've met loads of people and the social element is fantastic: we always head to the pub where players enjoy a discount pint after the games. I've just registered for my 3rd league along with the rest of my team and we can't wait!

“Just a small town girl...”

written by justineg on 14/11/2012

I had only heard positive feedback from friends about GO Mammoth. They weren’t wrong. I joined as an individual in a touch rugby league in Clapham, after enjoying it so much the team have now signed up to try dodgeball too! I can’t wait! The staff and refs are personal, amazingly friendly, professional and always helpful with anything we need on the nights. The club socials are fantastic too, the Halloween party was awesome! The best part of GO Mammoth for me is that I have made new friends in this big city, no regrets from the moment I signed up!

“The best social sports league in London!”

★★★★★

written by fleshtone on 14/11/2012

Before signing up to Go Mammoth, I’d enquired about several other leagues running throughout London and Go Mammoth was the one that really stood out to me. I’ve been playing Go Mammoth mixed netball for near enough a year now and I still look forward to meeting up with my team every week, and it’s a better alternative to signing up to the gym. The games are fun, well organised and above all, the social aspect is amazing, which is what Go Mammoth promised me when I joined up – ‘The Social Sports Club’. I’ve made some amazing friends playing netball, and not just with members of my own team, but with other teams in the league and even the umpires. Instead of sitting in on Tuesday nights I now get a good game of netball and drinks afterwards in the pub – the only thing I’ll complain about is my mid-week hangover on a Wednesday morning. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking to get into, or get back into, or if you’re just looking to meet some new people. The best social netball club in London!

“Appalling organisation ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 11/11/2012

Considering the cost per game for a Go Mammoth netball game is the highest I pay (I play in 2 other leagues) you would think that they would provide the best organisation in terms of other teams and refereeing standards. You would be wrong. I played in a mixed league in Parsons Green. Many of the games we turned up for were either canceled or there was no other team to play. Go Mammoth did not take any responsibility for filling missing positions or whole teams. They did not even apologise. Because of the lack of teams the refs had to play most of the time which meant we didn't get a fair game and when they did ref, they were poor, especially the girl who organised it. She was also blatantly biased towards a team because she had mates playing in it. Further to the lack of organisation, it was the most dangerous mixed league I've played in. Some of the guys had no regard for people's safety and due to the poor refereeing they were not pulled up for this so did not learn that netball is in fact a non-contact sport. It's ironic that they were so happy to allow the dangerous play in the mixed league considering as a company, Go Mammoth do not allow you to cover new piercings with plasters due to health and safety. I'm pretty sure more accidents occur due to the poor standard of refereeing than a covered up piercing. All other leagues I play are fine with covered up piercings, it is social netball after all, not club level! I can safely say I will never join a Go Mammoth league again and would recommend that anyone looking for a new league to join, do your research first. Don't settle for Go Mammoth just because they are one of the biggest netball organisers in London.

“Waste of Money and Effort”

★☆☆☆☆

written by pcordy1 on 06/11/2012

I play netball a few times a week so for me its about exercise, socialising and team spirit. I joined Go Mammoth thinking it would cover all of this and more....how wrong was I. The whole season was a big expensive waste of time. As promised on the website there was supposed to be 2 Refs for each game, GM could barely scrape together one. One week we had an umpire who didn’t even score the game and even admitted they didn’t care! This was not what we signed up for. Not only the reffing but the organisation throughout the season was appalling. The staff did not seem to care if a team didn't bother to turn up and could clearly not be bothered to find ringers for games when teams where down players. The woman that runs the Netball had no idea what she was doing and I know that the team along with several others will not be signing up next season. I play for other teams throughout the week and they never get it wrong like GM. On 2 occasions we arrived with no team to play which as you can imagine was extremely frustrating on cold evening at 8pm after travelling across London. The team was so annoyed by the end of the season we didn’t bother to stick around for the final. The whole organisation is a complete joke, do not waste your money!!!

“Great way to meet new people!”

★★★★★

written by on 30/04/2012

I was new to London and didn't know anyone, I had been here for a few months and was still having a hard time meeting new people. Go Mammoth isn't just to play a sport, it's a chance to meet new people and make friends. I'm in my second league of Dodgeball and loving it! Everyone is so friendly and the company is super organized. I also really enjoy the Go Mammoth Socials which include everyone from all of the other sports. Nothing but smiles and great times!
