LG Optimus 3D

Pretty lightweight with a massive 4.3”-wide capacitive touch LCD screen and triple camera feature, the LG Optimus 3D’s selling point is its 3D cameras for eye-catching images and videos.

This breakthrough handset’s design is pretty toned down with only the front-facing camera breaking the sheet of glass in front and a couple of buttons at the top and on the sides of the unit. Streamlined yet considered to be difficult to carry in your hand or slip into your pocket, the minimalistic design may appeal to conservative consumers who love a sleek mobile phone with enough style and functionality to get them through the day. Enjoying 3G images on the screen minus the expensive glasses also makes this phone unique and interesting, duly noted by Trusted Reviews consumers.

Many had jotted down comments at Engadget and showed mixed emotions to the LG Optimus’ 3D characteristic. In as much as having 3D on your phone could be a conversation piece, people didn’t want it longer than 5 minutes at most. LG may have seen that coming and so had included a setting for you to adjust just how 3-dimensional you would like your images to be which was neat.

The LG Optimus 3D also excels in the processing area. It is able to juggle information and application operation without much delay mainly due to its triad of dual core, dual memory and dual channel configuration providing a lot of means for information to travel within the system. Although it uses FroYo, something that a log of experts frowned at, this smartphone performed pretty well in the data and application processing category.

For all its exciting modern smartphone abilities however, the LG Optimus 3D had been heavily criticised on its dreadful battery performance and bland hardware design. With the 3D incorporated into the phone, a more powerful battery should have come along with the unit. Regular daily use consisting of merely checking messages, occasional Twitter and Facebook hook ups and several 3D games entailed having to recharge the phone every 10 hours or so which was quite an inconvenience to many TechRadar reviewers.
