What a find! We stumbled upon the Castle Point Caravan Park quite by accident and took a cancellation at the beginning of August. We landed on our feet. The warden, is friendly, helpful and sympathetic. We had arrived from a terrible experience elsewhere, so she helped us out with sheets, etc. and even brought us a bottle of wine! What a darling.
The caravan we stayed in was clean and in good repair. Perfect for the four of us, and the kids loved it. The view from our caravan was amazing... we would sit on the verandah in the evening watching the sun go down beyond the hills across the bay. Beat that if you can.
We quickly found some lovely walks straight from the site down to the shore, and it's only 4 miles to the nearest sandy beach.
The facilities were everything that you need - washing, rubbish and wifi all down by the entrance in an old stone building. NO arcades, NO pub, NO trashy shops.
We will definitely be returning, but this time we're visiting with two other families, so yes, we wouldn't just recommend it, we'd twist people's arms to visit!
