Avoid. Appalling customer service, lack of support and sense that no one within HireGPS cares about their customers. Satnav broke down almost as soon as we arrived in USA, which made getting around places like San Francisco trying, to say the least. Sent three emails to report and ask for advice to resolve but no response – despite their claim when I called on return to the UK that they reply to all emails! When I finally got to speak to someone, they did agree to refund but no compensation, despite the whole point of hiring a satnav from them being to have the convenience - which we never had - of a guide to our destinations while on a tour covering more than 2,500 miles. They also agreed to refund return postage but that took a further two unanswered emails and several phone calls to get as all choices on IVR went unanswered on several occasions.
To cap it all, I later received a standard email telling me the satnav I’d returned had been ‘checked back’ into their warehouse. So beware – if you hire a satnav from this company, you could end up with the same broken machine and suffer the same inconvenience and difficulties that we did!
