I also had the weak part that is mentioned break on me. I contacted SennhauserUSA and sent them in for repair. They repaired them for free and sent me two free batteries as well. Great service, and quick. I had them back in less than two weeks and didn't pay a dime.
HDR 85 battery life is not great though as mentioned, and probably why they sent me a couple extras.

I'm satisfied, hasn't broken for 3 years. Unfortunately the batteries run for an our max but I think of making the phones wired :) My next PC ge==headphones will be same trademark

Overall, I am satisfied with the Sennheiser HDR 85 wireless headphones. The two most important factors -- sound quality and comfort -- are very good. However, there are a number of things to criticize.
The short battery time is a real annoyance. Run-time is only a few hours, while recharging takes about 14 hours. Even with two batteries, I can barely use the headphones for half a day. The batteries are more than enough for watching movies or listening to music/radio for a while, but not for a full days use with a PC.
Also, an integrated microphone would be a great addition for use with PC gaming, and internet phones etc. It is a shame a microphone is not included with this model.
I can only recommend these headphones conditionally, if:
- You don't need extended battery run-time.
- You don't need a microphone with the headphones.
- You are always going to handle the headphones with care.

I have to agree with other comments about the Sennheiser HDR 85, good sound quality, but shamefull robustness. This thing breaks really easily in multiple weak points. Terribly feeble pivot points. Only buy these if you are willing to strengthen these with reams of insulation tape or similar immediately after purchase.

Hello everybody,
Anybody who is thinking of buying The Sennheiser HDR 85 Please be Warned! This wireless headphone, despite its high sound quality, gets broken from the bearings after 1.5 year. The plastic joints are of VERY LOW QUALILY.
Regards.

Yes this has just happened to my phones too, after 22 months and occasional use. The phones have good sound, but the plastic is brittle.
They are the most uncomfortable headphones I have ever used. And do not try to adjust the headband.
Mine broke in the first week of use.
Not recommended.
