I'm On My Second Schuberth C2 (other Helmet Is A C

I'm on my second Schuberth C2 (other helmet is a Caberg J'mo) and the present one - same size - is a bit tight. On the first one I had Autocom speakers inserted but had to take one out because they made the helmet too tight over long distances, despite the Autocom chaps enlarging the speaker cavities. Currently I'm experimenting with in-ear speakers for intercom and GPS but these don't cut out as much sound as the MotoSafe earplugs - it's all a compromise!

I agree with others that fogging (and of my specs1) is a problem but find the 'city' setting of the visor helps a lot and it's also possible to open the visor a 'crack' at the bottom. The old one was just 'run-in' when it's time was up (3 years). The C2 is the best flip-up helmet I've tried. I did try the C3 but, on my head, it was hideously noisy, despite what it says in the ad's.

Just Purchased A New Schuberth C2 As I Had The Ori

just purchased a new schuberth c2 as i had the original concept which provided 5 years brilliant service, still not ready for the skip. the new c2 has a modified chin collar and side flaps which i consider to be benefical. the build quality is excellent and the internal sun visor is a must for all helmet makers. using my old concept i could hear the engine at 60 mph but with the c2 i still cant hear the engine at 80 and it's not through wind noise. I think it's fantastic. i would recommend owners reading and understanding the instruction manual especially how to car for the antifog coating.

I Have Bought A New Schuberth C2 And It's Brillian

i have bought a new schuberth c2 and it's brilliant. i had the original concept and it provided 5 years sterling service. still not ready for the bin but i decided to upgrade. the new c2 has a modified collar and side skirts to reduce noise and it works. i can't hear the engine even at 80 mph and it's not because of wind noise. it's a remarkable helmet. i do advise owners to read and understand the instruction manual especially about cleaning the anti fog coating. we all rave about our own helmets but for me the only name in helmets is shuberth.

The Schuberth C2 Is My First Flip-up Helemt. Its N

The Schuberth C2 is my first flip-up helemt. Its not all bad, but I probabaly won't buy another Schuberth. Fits OK, but my head is not quite the right shape but its getting more comfortable the more I wear it. Flip-up catch is a two handed affair - a one-handed, button in the centre of the helemt would have been better. Anti-fog coating coming off within two months, and it fogs of sorts regardless of this coating. Quiet under 30mph, supremely noisy over 50mph, even with ear plugs (on a bike with a small screen). I can't hear the bike at any speed, (a bad point) but my ears feel like they're in a tornado at 60mph. My 10 year old Shoei is quieter (and to think I bought the C2 because Schuberth's are supposed to be quiet helemts). I'd sell the C2 for £150 if the opportunity arose, cut my losses and buy something else.

I thought the flip-dpwn dark visor was a bit of a gimmick, but actually its pretty good. Ventilation seems OK, except on cool days - cold draughts come in.

It seems pretty good build quality, but is way too expensive compared to other helmets. A bit tight to put on too. Its not exactly the prettiest helmet either. I

Its the wind noise that really lets this helmet down, and is the reason I wouldn't buy another (that and my head shape). However they test for wind noise, they're doing it wrong.

I found this review helpful because...

I totaly agree with all that was said in this review.

I can also add that however you care for and take care of the anti fog coating, it still peels.

I have found this a bit of a waste of money and would also buy a Shoei any day.

If you have the choice, don't buy the C2.

Disappointed With This Expensive Schuberth Helmet.

Disappointed with this expensive Schuberth helmet. Noisy over 50mph and the internal visor mechanism has broken on me so the outer control doesn't work and I must raise or lower it by hand.

I Bought My Schuberth C2 Just Over 12 Months Ago A

I bought my Schuberth C2 just over 12 months ago and have worn it virtually every day and over 20,000 miles since. It is very comfortable and even on long journeys doesn't leave me with neck ache. The internal sunvisor is a great add on, though in time the anti fog coating stops working quite so well.

For around town (or if you wear glasses) there is a city position for the external visor that allows extra air in to de-fog. This works well at low speeds, though gets overly noisey at about 50mph. No problem there, just close it tightly and let the standard air vents do the work. Like all quality helmets, it is designed with coms systems in mind. I use autocom with the standard speakers. These fit nicely into little voids, though take a while to place so you don't get ear ache. The only real downside is the wind break on the flip lid. This catches against my chin, meaning that is is a little awkward to close and has to be done at a standstill rather than on the move. It also has a side pocket for your ICE details and instruction on resuscitation.

I had a recent spill, where I hit my head hard enough to have minor concussion. The helmet boasted only a couple of scratches - the replacement of course is another C2.

Best in class is my vote.

Quiet, Comfortable Well Made, Excellent With Inter

Quiet, comfortable well made, excellent with intercomm installed. Top quality visor, Good top air vent to keep head cool, Removable strap lining, Added bonus internal flip down sun visor.

I was hit full on the visor by a piece of metal that fell from a scrap metal recovery lorry travelling towards me at app 50mph (angle iron 9"). I was travelling 50mph in the opposite direction. The visor deflected the angle iron although was badly cracked.

Any lesser product I think I may not have been here to tell the tale

The Schuberth C2 Is A Good Quality, Well Made Helm

The Schuberth C2 is a good quality, well made helmet that shows that flip front helmets can be quiet too.

I can't close the front with 1 hand as the chin skirt needs to be held while closing the front. This means that I have to shut the front before I move off.

I Had A Caberg C2 Before This And Bought The C2 Be

I had a Caberg C2 before this and bought the C2 because of the purported acoustic improvements. I can't say I have noticed any. The internal padding is minimal (cheek pads) and it allows too much cold inside. I didn't like riding in the cold with a streaming nose. A very disappointing helmet unless you only ride in warm weather.
