The theater itself was nice but Jersey boys were so sexist from the beginning, it was cringeworthy - unfortunately we forgot this is supposed to be USA in the 60’ - the women barely speak and when they do they sound like children and say something really stupid, then men tell them of course to be quiet. The women are often half naked while men are fully dressed (first song and later as well). They are portrayed as sex symbols or sex trophy of the men, then there is comparison of women to a car in sexual context - really just embarrassing. The main character is violent (it’s supposed to be funny) and very cocky (I guess typical “alpha” male). Unfortunately we left after first half, the story really must be rewritten to match up with current times otherwise it’s just cringey. The men singing were nice though.

My wife and I went to see The Jersey Boys on Dec. 1, 2017 at The Lincoln Center in Ft. Collins. There was so much profanity that we left during the performance. I expected a minimal amount of profanity but once they used the F word, it came out a lot. That combined along with everything was pre-recorded and I don't believe any actual sounds whatsoever, came from the stage, was just a bad "performance". I have been to many high school plays that I would rate extremely higher than this trash.

Went to see he show Mar 3 , the person playing Frankie valle was the most charismatic actor I hav seen in a long while! his voice his moves were incredible, especially when he sang Cant Take My Eyes Off You, was just brilliant and deserved the standing ovation he received. I shall be looking out for him again if he does tour with the same show as I enjoyed it so much.

VERY ENTERTAINING WITH GREAT CASTING IT AMAZES ME HOW EASTWOOD NAILED THE ESSENCE OF THE TIME AND LOCATION ALTHOUGH HE COMES FROM A WORLD APART. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT TO FRIENDS, MAYBE NOT TO PRE-TEEN CHILDREN. GREAT PORTRAYAL OF WHERE I CAME FROM AND THE DESIRE TO SUCCEED WITH LITTLE OPPORTUNITY. THE MUSIC AND SONGS ALONG WITH FRANKIE HAVE BECOME CLASSICS. EQUAL KUDOS TO THE SONG WRITER. HOWEVER, IT PORTRAYS A POOR GENERALIZATION OF YOUNG ITALIANS OF THE TIME HAVING A CRIMINAL TENDENCY.

Seen jersey boys more times than I can remember. Great show with a great bunch of very talented actors. Went last Sunday to see Ryan Molloy as he is outstanding as the lead. We got Michael Watson instead as Ryan was off sick. Has to be one of the worst performances of this show I have seen. He just couldn't stay in the right key for any of the songs! Over acting lead to mistakes in the second act. Didn't like it one bit! Came across over confidence without any real quality in his ability to perform. Will wait for Ryan before I go back!!

Read some of the other reviews. Seems to me that you have to try an pick who you see so you won't be disappointed! I have seen this show a fair few times so would recommend Ryan Molloy or Ben Jennings. Both are excellent in this role! Vocals the best by far from the other people who play/ cover this part! The others are so so. Not great but ok. No wow factor compared to the best two!

Michael Watson was playing the lead when we saw the show last week. Was really looking forward to a great show! He didn't seem to be able to stay in tune! The second act just got worst! Off key with the solo songs! Didn't do anything for myself an party! A real shame! Will leave it a while before I will be going back!

The cover I saw playing the lead in jersey boys boys last week has to be the worst I have seen in a very long time!! Couldn't sing in tune.Couldnt dance! Very poor for this sort of show. The rest of the cast lead the show which helped. Surely the lead should be the best? Ive seen most of the other guys who play or understudy this part who are very good. This actor was Michael Watson. Think he needs to go and find another career choice!

Jersey boys is such a good show if they could get the right performers to perform consistently! Not like some of the other jukebox musicals this is a good strong show. I have found over the years that the leads look like they are only cast for the way they look rather than for talent which let's the show down really badly! Ryan molloy has lead the show over the years to the high quailty it should be. So I don't see why the standard has dropped. Most of the covers I have seen are not always Frankie valli lookalikes but have had very good voices. Those that have looked more like the man haven't always been able to sing let alone carry the show as a lead should. I think talent should override the look any day! I'm sure theatre goers don't really care about the way a performer looks. More to do with can they do the show justice! This is a hard vocal show so come on casting agents! Get it right!

Jersey boys has always been one of the top west end shows as long as it has been running. Sadly I have been a few times in the last year and the standard of some of the cast has gone down. It looks like younger performers have been cast in place instead of older ones with experience. This must be due to cutting costs. You can't run a show like jersey boys with some of the hardest vocals around to performers straight from collage just to save a few pounds. For example a few of the Frankie covers have not come up to the normal high standard that the lead Ryan Molloy sets. I have seen most of the understudies over the years who have been on the whole not bad. This year has been the worst for me with cover Michael Watson who was flat and out of tune with most of the songs. His dancing was awful. I have seen him twice now and the performance hadn't improved. If this is the way the top shows are going I will not be going back. Tickets are not cheap so producers must be getting greedy. Can't see this show lasting much longer if the cast are not up to the job.

Fantastic show! Loved every second of it! Third time in 4 years seeing it. Still as good. Seen the fab Ryan Molloy as Frankie who is just super in this role! Saw Ben Jennings last week who was just as good! Loved his ctmeoy! Really enjoyable night out. Would go time and time again!

great music! Really good cast apart from one small thing! The guy who was playing the lead wasn't so good! Micheal Watson really had problems staying in tune! Such a shame for a show like this. I willed him on in some parts but it didn't get any better!

Went to see Jersey Boys on Wednesday 14th August, during a trip to London with some friends, really wanted to see the phantom, but couldn't get tickets. From the start the language was atrocious, the F word was used regularly and without any need, we hear enough bad language in real life without having to pay to hear it. Sexual innuendo was used throughout, for a show that is supposed to be suitable for 12 year old children, this is ridiculous, We left as soon as we could with out disturbing those around us, which was during the interval,my husband told one of the staff our reason for leaving, and he was genuinely upset, and said we should have been told when buying the tickets about the strong language used during the show. The music was good but the content left a lot to be desired, we have seen many shows over the years and this is the first time this has ever happened, it has left a very bad taste, we will be very careful should we ever attempt to book a show in the future.

Regular theatre goer for over twenty years. Seen good seen bad. Can't tell you how diabolical the actor playing the lead was! He couldn't sing! His voice was flat at the end of every song. I didn't enjoy it one bit. This is really not good enough for a top west end show! I have never felt I had to write a review before just to tell people how bad a performer was. The actor was Michael Watson. Some silly girls who were sitting near the front were making nuisances of themselves when a group of people were complaining how awful this guys singing voice was. The girls fancied the actor by the sounds of it so were being rather rude to the party who not loudly in the interval were talking between themselves. Everyone can have a personal view about something but this guy could really not sing! You would of had to have been deaf not to hear this! Really spoiled this show. Will think twice before going again!

This show could be so much better if they could cast good quality performers to play the lead Frankie Valli all the time. I really rate this show but the consistently of the leads and covers is just not there.Ryan molloy must have been a great find to have played this part so so well over the years. But the understudies have not always been up to scatch. This must prove what a hard vocal this is to play so casting the right actors is a must! Sadly I think with a few exceptions the wrong performers have been cast for varoius reasons. Talent should be the most important factor as vocally this is so demanding. Some of the covers have looked right but couldnt maintain the singing which let's the show down badly. Have heard this show is to move theatre next year. I hope this is the right time for things to change or I can't see it lasting a lot longer. Hats off Ryan for showing the high standard it should be! Also best understudy in a very long time Ben Jennings!

Some great shows in the west end with jersey boys being at the top. Great cast with smooth performers who all gel well together. I saw a understudy on for the lead. Michael Watson. Not impressed this time. Couldn't sing in tune couldn't act. Very poor for the money these shows make on the ticket price. I'm hoping this was a one off. But reading other reviews this guy seems to come up as not being very good at this part. So glad it wasn't just me then! Really shouldn't be in this top show playing the part of Frankie Valli.
