When Alpen first came out it was an innovation in breakfast cereal. Now when you open the bag it looks like someone has used the sweepings from the floor. Supermarket own brands are far far better than this now rubbish cereal.

hey you alpen lovers, what could be better than ripping open a new box of the o/alpen poring it into you boil and wishing you where eating it there and then seeing all the goodness filling up the boil before splashing fresh cold milk which alpen loves to drink making you think you not put much in......the only annoy thing is forgetting to clean your boil after cause when you get round to do it,you feel like someone came along when out and came in with a massive glue gun and glue some so the goodness to the side of the boil...as we know time moring time you need something quick not picking at the boil before getting ur breaky...........

I am sure as a kid Alpen Original used to be sweeter. Ok its still sweet at the moment, but thats my problem with it. I can eat a box in one go. So need to avoid.

Alpen Original is one of the best ways to get fibre in your diet. Love the taste and it's even better when it's warmed up.

I remember what Alpen use to be years ago when
I was much younger, it was a lot different than
it is now. It is NOT Alpen Original any more.
It was much nicer, the contents was
better selected, better proportioned. I wish it
could be the way it was, for now I may give it up
for good.

Aldi, do an equivalent brand for half the money and its just as good. For a really wholesome bowl, just add extra raisins or sultanas and to cut the sugar, buy the unsweetened version (blue box) and buy sainsburys Algave syrup and add to bowl when adding milk. Its nicely sweet, but still low GI (sugar is high GI) so releases energy slowly.

I have the same problem with cereals - I just cant stop - I have eaten a whole box on Granola this weekend alone! I guess it could be worse like chocolate but still...
<br/>I had seemed to combat this by buying weetabix - the individual bisc's seem to quantify what I am eating so I dont go mad!
