Written on: 22/09/2007 by adamhornsby (17 reviews written)

After owning the iPod for just under a year, I have experienced it crashing, displaying the wrong artwork and the like. Mediocre battery life, under 'real' situation I could barely get 8 hours out of it. The design of the iPod is rather starting to look somewhat 'tacky' and outdated. The build quality too, is rather flimsy, especially the headphones, which the rubber around them has already started to come off. The sound leveller feature does not work either. I think Apple might be getting… Read Full Review

Written on: 26/10/2006 by plywood (1 review written)

I had never owned an MP3 player before. In the first few weeks I had the Apple iPod Video it was everything and more I could possibly have wanted from an MP3 player. However, after a month the screen started to freeze on a weekly basis. Also, the iPod would just turn itself off every other day, and then it would partially freeze. Today I returned it to the retailer and received a full refund. I still want an MP3 player, and I still want the iPod, as it was superb when it worked, but I will… Read Full Review

I just wanted to point out about the "shutting off of the iPod by itself". It's supposed to do that, after about 5 Minutes or so without using it. It automatically shuts off for the Conservation of the battery life.

“The Apple iPod looks nice out of the box....”

Written on: 08/08/2006 by HeidiHHH (1 review written)

The Apple iPod looks nice out of the box. Unfortunately it scratches easily. The battery has problems (3 iPod's in 3 years), and customer service at Apple is horrible!

I have absolutely nothing good to say about this product… Read Full Review

This is a very bias comment. In actuality, Apple is very helpful when it comes to the iPod.

Written on: 02/06/2006 by fellis (1 review written)

I had mine delivered this afternoon, the 30GB video ipod. Was so excited and after the first download it crashed and spent all evening on the Apple website which was worse than useless. All I have on display is folder and exclamation, can't get rid of this despite all their instructions and tech support only office hours...rubbish. Would not recommend to anyone. When I called to return operator said his nano had done exaclty the same!… Read Full Review

Written on: 02/06/2006 by roisheff (1 review written)

Since the first day I have TRIED to use my Apple ipod all it has done is cause me problems. Since installing i-tunes, my laptop has never worked properly. I now know from discussing this problem with other unfortunate ipod users that this is not an uncommon problem, which of course is never mentioned before buying an ipod. I have spent hours talking to "ipod technical support" and they have never been able to resolve my problem. It would seem that their IT knowledge is either limited or that… Read Full Review

Written on: 24/01/2006 by rogthedodge62 (4 reviews written)

Things that make you go 'Hmm'. Fooled by the advertising, the popularity of the iPod (40 million sold!!?) and the excellence of iTunes on the PC, I invested nearly £300 in an iPod 60GB.

Just 6 days after starting to use it it failed. The website/software back-up is very poor, but Apple's attitude and understanding of the meaning of a global warranty is worse.

I want a refund, but I am getting a repair (and using up 2 weeks out of the 90 period - where they'll deign to fix their inadequate… Read Full Review

ipods have generally never been designed to last more than 12 months. The battery can only withstand 500 cycles which is 500 full charges or 500 discharges then it packs in and apple will want £59 of you to replace it. Plus with it being a video ipod that can only handle 2 hours of video on 1 full charge you will reach the 500 charges amount quicker than quick then you will have to fork out more cash for a new battery and you have to send it away to apple for this to be done. Screen scratches very easily just put it in your soft pocket with no other objects in there and watch in amazement how the screen has more scratches than a hiphop DJ has on his records.

“I regret that I will have to return the iPod Video...”

Written on: 13/01/2006 by PG (1 review written)

I regret that I will have to return the iPod Video model MA147LL that I purchased, due to a serious software bug and/or design flaw. When playing tracks that are meant to flow continuously from one into the next, the iPod interrupts the sound and blanks out for a moment between tracks. It does this EVEN WHEN RIPPED TO .WAV files, which do NOT have this problem with other manufacturer's players. HOW could such a serious design issue pass quality control and get out undetected, and or unfixed… Read Full Review

“The Apple iPod Video is the worst MP3 player ever!! ”

Written on: 17/12/2005 by Ruthven (1 review written)

The Apple iPod Video is the worst MP3 player ever!!

My screen has cracked after just 2 days, and I am gutted. I spent my hard earned cash on an overpriced piece of rubbish!!

The music quality isn't even as good as a CD. It also scratches very easily. If this thing is in your pocket with your loose change and keys it will be destroyed; even if your wearing jeans.

I am going out today to buy an iRiver!… Read Full Review

Have you not heard of Piano finish? It's not meant to be loose in your pocket with keys and change, off course it'll get wrecked there. That's why they make covers for them. In terms of sound quality being awful on yours, it's because you've probably recorded your tracks in MP3 format when the (Apple only) AAC format is far superior. Also, on any stereo, the headphones are always the weakest link. If you haven't already destroyed your ipod, invest in a decent set of phones....

Written on: 07/12/2005 by tinkcreative (1 review written)

The moment my Apple iPod Video came out of its wrapping it started to scratch. After just five days my Black Video iPod looked like it was two years old. Why Oh why do Apple sell them when they scratch so easily? As for video, with a screen that scratches so much, I doubt I'll be watching very much on it. If it lasts a year I'll be amazed. The build quality really is poor. Like someone who gets all dressed up for a great night out only to get dragged through a bush seconds later. Is their night… Read Full Review

Hey mate, have you ever heard of a hard cover? I know they scratch easy but just get a $20 hardcover! It's worth it.

My advice. Don't chuck a spaz!! Get a hard cover for your ipod. It stops it from getting scratched and doesn't cost much at all.
