When we visited we found healthy looking animals and clean enclosures. We were informed that a lot of the animals were rescued and the staff seemed well in tune with the animals histories and present needs.
My nephews loved the white cocktatoo and the monkeys. The owner made an apprearance in the monkey cage and the monkey came down and showed a lot of affection before wanting to play.
Although the Cleethorpes,Lincolnshire. The Jungle zoo is small in relation to most zoos, the surroundings…

The place in general seemed run down, the entrance was very scruffy in fact looked as if the place had closed down. The wash basin to wash after feeding animals was dirty, the soap dispenser didn't work and there were no drying facilities. On the whole the place was a dissappointment and one came out feeling sorry for the animals. It is a shame that this place lets Cleethorpes down as Cleethorpes has improved so much in the last few years with many more amenities. Come on Cleethorpes don't let… Read Full Review

I am now saddened to say I visited this zoo. The enclosures were shocking and the animals were bored.
The facilities were poor as well.
Upon entering you must pay the entrance fee which is about £3.50 for an adult and £2 for a child which is good value for money.
Hints of what to come are in the macaw cage-good size but no enrichment.
You then enter the greenhouse setting. It is a wonderful humid environment filled with lush vegitation and lovely pools where terrapins rest.
Unfortunately the…

This zoo will probably delight most children and upset many animal lovers. While the animals appear in good physical condition they are kept in small cages, especially the Myna bird and white Parrot. The snakes have tanks so small they spend their lives curled up, as they have no room to move. The Meerkats are delightful but their outdoor area was small and they were shut in an enclosed area, desperately digging to get out again. The zoo was recently on Look North, after reports of poor… Read Full Review

Jungle zoo is in a poor state. It was on Look North recently and the reasons are quite clear as to why. Improvements are being made but I do not think that it will become satisfactory, as there is a terrible lack of space for all the animals. It upset me when I took my Grandson as we love animals, they just do not deserve these enclosed cages. Other people agreed with us on the way out. Disappointing and eye opening.

The Jungle is one of the main attractions in Cleethorpes and features prominently in the town's Tourist Guide. Admittance is inexpensive and the creatures within will delight both children and grown-ups. The main building is a huge greenhouse, which houses caged snakes, spiders, birds, lizards and other small animals in a recreated tropical rainforest environment. There is an outside area where you can feed more docile animals. The Jungle is also a rescue centre, providing homes for exotic… Read Full Review

I would highly recommend the Jungle to anyone. It will especially be appealing to children, but people of any age really. The animals are extremely well looked after and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Me and my family while on a visit to cleethorpes last week saw the jungle zoo and thought that it would be good, well it looked it from the outside. I can personally say that I will never visit this attraction again and would never recommend it to anyone. The enclosures were tiny and inadequate for the animals needs, the whole zoo was in a state of disrepair, the animals seemed unhappy and ill in some circumstances. Its shocking that such an attraction is allowed to exist in this modern day and age. Please read the review by CAPS last year:

My wife and I took our children to the zoo whilst on a visit to Cleethorpes. It was very disappointing. Made us feel sorry for the animals housed in there. It is in a bad state of affairs. We went there because we enjoy taking the children to a zoo but in all honesty we will not go again to this one. The monkey seems lonely. No toilet facilities. Sorry to be negative but I am speaking from experience.
