I was looking for a low mileage, clean car and not too expensive as my previous car was in the process of being written off after an accident. Found this one: 9 years old, 48k miles, almost full service history, reliable-looking private seller who had bought a new Kia himself. The price was almost a third of what I would have paid for a similar Auris/Corolla, Civic or Golf. It is a pleasure to drive. The 1.6L petrol engine is a good compromise of fuel economy and performance. It will give approximately 8 miles per litre so for average mileage like mine (6000 miles per year) it works out fine without having the risk of potentially high diesel maintenance charges. Road tax is on the expensive side. Parts are not expensive and easily available from local shops or Europarts. So you can grab a used bargain as currently Kia and Hyundai (essentially the same company) are not very desirable so resale is slow. Look for a well-maintained car and enjoy.

Very good family car, easy driving and very quick off the mark, it is also a comfortable car and a pleasure to.
