I just bought some for Halloween and thought I would be going down memory lane. Not only have they changed the packaing of each individual chocolate, each one (dairy milk is the exception) seems to be a lot worse! I knew Cadbury was bought out by an American company but I did not realise they would destroy a classic… clearly I was wrong. If I could give a zero of five, this would earn that accolade… Need something to rinse my mouth now…

Cadburys Roses are no longer a quality treat, they taste awful, CADBURYS ROSES should be sold as a Predominatly CHOCOLATE FREE case, filled with barely edible way to sweet artificial tasting goo. SO NASTY TASTEING I thought they were fake. On a positive note, There are very few in the container, making binning them after removing the exesive non recyclable wrappers less of a guilt trip. This review is written by someone who eats a lot of Chocolates. However I will not be buying any more Cadbury Roses.

What were Christmas staples are now unpalatable garbage thanks to poor quality ingredients designed to save money and boost profits. The hazelenut in caramel in particular has an unbelievably bad aftertaste. It's sad to say, but these now don't bear any resemblance to the chocolates of the past. They're more like vomit tasting American chocolate. Save yourself disappointment and don't buy them.

Roses chocolates are an abomination to mankind! They used to be lovely when I was young- I adored the strawberry cream! I hate the now cloying waxy texture and American style taste sickly sweet . Plus amount of palm/ soy used is unacceptable and you can taste the soya bean too. The worst thing though is how environmentally destructive the wrappers are. Although the plastic tub is recyclable, the wrappers are made of a metallic foil that isn’t. So that’s billions of these wrappers going into landfill. Just appalling. At least Quality Street ( Nestle) are making some effort to use paper wrapping. Cadbury ( oh sorry- Kraft) need to look at alternatives plus their use of palm oil. Never going to buy them again. Disgusting! Why do they think the British public will eventually warm to American chocolate? No.

I don’t know what’s happened to these “chocolates” but I won’t be buying them again until they start making them like they used to. They taste very low quality and all have the same greasy texture and the chocolate is bland. Nothing like the old varieties. All very sickly and tasteless.

What have you done - they taste absolutely foul, they’re disgusting. Whatever you have changed put it back to normal as I’ll never buy a tub of roses that taste like this again

Flavours internally still fairly good but the chocolate is gross. You would not know you're eating cadburys. It's so bland and sugary. Horrible. Where is the creamy dairy milk choclate that used to surround these treats. Milk Tray are the same. I used to treat myself and my family to a box every month but sadly I will now stop buying. Gutted.. but will be good for the waistline!!

I was given a 600g tub of Cadbury Roses.(I am unable to call it a tin as it isn’t) I am pleased that I didn’t pay for that gift, as it would have been a total waste of my money. The Roses of old have all gone, replaced with sickly American style chocolate. I have read all of the reviews and virtually every one says how awful Roses are since the takeover by Kraft. But I wonder if the new owners of Cadbury have read and listened to the opinions of their customers. I think not! Or they would have acted on the complaints. Come on Kraft, sort this out. Having worked for an American firm, I know that American management are never wrong and that in their opinions, we British should change our views or tastes! Bottom line - I will never buy or accept Cadbury Roses ever again!

Most delicious chocolate I've ever had. My favorite are chocolate and orange. I enjoy this and often get the larger tub.

SmithOwn you must have very low expectations.
They are disgusting. The chocolate is horrible and has been for a few years now. Made from Soya & Palm oil what a disgusting taste. Not real chocolate.
One good thing they have reduced the weight of the box so less of it to eat.
Hero’s still my favourite then celebrations followed by Quality street but they have gone back a bit.
It’s hard to find the hazelnut in the humptyback.
Whatever happened to the Brazil nut chocolate toffee I can’t remember who made it I think they all made a version of it but it’s vanished.

Traditionally, I was given a box of Roses chocolates this year in appreciation for a small service. How very disappointing to realise they are now absolute rubbish and totally unenjoyable to eat. Not one dark coated chocolate as stated on the box cover, the so called peppermint creme crunch was very mildly peppermint with milk chocolate plus a most unpalatable gritty texture. After a second try from confusing wrapping indications, that was enough, no more. To now give Cadbury's Roses to anyone in future, would be an outright insult. Cadbury, you need to reappraise your product.

Horrible chocolate waxy and fake loved the original milky chocolate roses but alas they are gone to be replaced by sweet sickly waxy rubbish

Used to love Roses chocolates, each one was different and looked hand made, now the packaging is boring and the chocolates are boring, all for the sake of profit . Cadburys, you continue to let us down, shame on you. Cath Kidston tin most interesting aspect, which I paid extra for.

Used to like the Christmas sweet event each year and would share a tin (or two) with all the family. I'm getting used to this shrink flation these days, they must think we are all fools and don't notice but that aside the presentation is quite eye catching. After my wife passed one a chocolate across to me I just couldn't believe what I was eating. What have they done to the chocolate?, it's definitely different and sorry but it just wasn't what I was used too and it wasn't pleasant. That's the last tub of them for me.

Stuff is done to them. Urgh! Palm fat. Melts in stomach. Hard to digest. Fatty vomit stuffs with lots of sugar. Is the plague in a plastic tub.

How dissapointed I am with Cadburys Roses this year. They were always the preferred option in our family but now...well, I can live with the new wrappers but all the shapes have gone. It took me 10 minutes of searching before I realised that hazelnut in caramel used to be the purple one and hazelnut swirl no longer has the familiar swirl shape that was like it had been piped out. Furthermore, all the textures are smooth..where is coconut, toffee or anything with crispy bits in? So next year I shall have to buy quality street or one of the supermarket own brands. My friend has Sainbury's and they were better than Roses. What a shame it has come to this. Come on Cadburys, you can do better than this.

Not sure what the boffins at Mondelez have done or why, but Roses used to be loved by everyone in my family. Now, when faced with a choice of buying a run of chocolates now, I’ll pick Quality Street every time! The chocolate doesn’t taste like Cadbury’s, the fillings and flavours are terrible. #bringbackroses

Hi. I would just like to comment on the product in question,as i once worked for a major supermarket from the 80s to 2006,and i have seen the decline in a product that was once at the top of the tree in terms of quality ,however the current product is a million miles from what it first was ,and all that the Cadburys brand stood for which was fair price quality and brilliant value. If you taste any of these sweets. today they all resemble fudge and they all taste the same. I can remember the taste of a Brazilian darkness toffee ,and it was sensational ,with the hard toffee ,bits of coconut and dark choclate . the modern day version of that sweet is horrid ,as all the other selections are ,and the weight of the tin is now about half of what it used to be .I still remember the original tins they came in ,not plastic and they were massive compared to the current ones.

I don't know what's happened to Roses but they now taste disgusting. The "tin" (which is now plastic) was barely 3/5 full (and that's on top of being an inch shorter in height vs previous years). Each chocolate is now wrapped in over-sized "sachets" each containing a large bubble of air and obviously designed to take up 1.5x the space for the same chocolate. In short, if you took the chocolates and wrapped them as they used to be and put them in the older larger sized tubs, it would barely be 1/3rd full. You are literally paying for 2/3rds thin air here. As for the chocolates themselves, they've lost all the old distinctive flavours that actually tasted different (coffee cream, montelimar, coconut, bourneville, etc) and now they nearly all taste same generic "sugary sludge fondant" that's merely "hinted" with flavour that actually tastes of chemicals. Cadbury's Roses haven't just "gone downhill", they've completely fallen through the floor...
