We had a wonderful 2 night stay here the Caledonian Hilton in Jan 2009. Beautiful room with views of castle. Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast very nice. Would happily stay here again

Caledonian Hilton is a VERY nice hotel with a very nice "grand" main staircase at the western end of Princes street with Castle views (though the castle "view" was really at a distance. 5 star hotel with 3 VERY nice restaurants serving some VERY nice food -(Pompadour (£35 a head for 3 courses), Chisolms (£25 a head for 3 courses), Henry j Beans (price unknown)). Wine starts at around £20 a bottle upwards (Champagne was between £30 and £50 a bottle). 24 hour room service so you could even have a "sausage sandwich" at 2am if you wanted !! There is building work going on at the moment as they are refurbishing all the rooms (eventually) to include air con and updated decor.
