“I will write this review from personal experience. I...”

I will write this review from personal experience. I have a Dell Dimension 2400 that is a great computer for things like office work but when it comes to gaming... falls short to say the least. It suffers because it has a weak 64mb integrated chip on the motherboard and the motherboard has no AGP expansion... but gives a PCI slot for your disposal. So I went in search for a new graphics card but in PCI form. The options today are very limited as there is no longer a market to brag about in PCI as the popular PCI-E and AGP cards moved in. But I found 2 cards that seemed to fit the bill of what I was looking for. The 5700le and XFX5200. Both from nVidia they both had a lot to offer... but the 5700 PCI was not a choice for me in the end because I could not get it in this country or shipped over... so I went with the 5200. The reviews read that it could play HL2 and Doom3... both high end games, so I couldn't wait to receive it. I read how to install it before it got to me and learnt about disabling the integrated card on my motherboard which eventually turned out to be an automatic process. I bought it the cheapest I could... from amazon and awaited the delivery. It took some time but I appreciated the wait in the end. It arrived in a box shaped like a giant X and was decorated with bright greens and dark blues... some of the nicest packaging I have ever seen for an item (kept the box for display) it took me around 5 minutes to install (without the manual) and I was soon booting up my system for the first play. Instantly I heard a new noise of the fan on the card but it was such a minute noise, just a gentle computer whir, that it bothered me none... it is apparently one of the quietest cards on the market. I ran HL2 and it automatically set my graphics to 640x480 with some reflections and shadowing... which was a vast improvement as my previous card would not run it at all. This card has t&l support, which is a requirement in pretty much all new games now. The card improved my gaming experience to no end and now I have decided to keep my computer a bit longer as it has a bit of extra life thanks to this card expanding its ability. In the pci market there is little choice but this card is probably the best "bang for your buck", it holds a very low price tag (around £50) and will not disappoint and I would recommend it for all with a integrated graphics chip.
