Hi all Rang LV today, as I have 2 insurance policies with them and thought I’d get a reasonable quote. Our lovely staff weren’t that lovely and my existing policies meant nothing. LV have offered a very good car insurance service all round and I have been very impressed. “Worst experience ever dealing with a car insurance claim”

After a car drove through a red light straight into the side of me, the insurance company have caused me unbelievable stress, the way the calls are handled, they don't call you back, everything is being reviewed and they have no time frame on anything. they give out wrong information constantly and lie. I am 62 years old and have been licensed to drive cars and motorbikes since I was 18. Apart from the occasional speeding fine and one accident (a car drove into the back of me), I have never been in trouble with the police or had any problems with insurance in 44 years of driving. “Cancelled Insurance Without Notifying ”

I started my policy 3 weeks ago with Liverpool Victoria - I was asked to send through a few documents to be verified. I was on holiday when they first asked for the documents so when I came back I called them and they extended the time they needed the documents by a week. I phoned the company yesterday to change my address and they hit me with an extra 435 quid on top of my monthly payment. “Great until you need to make a claim, GET EVERYTHING...”

They have been consistently competitive on price, so I have used them for many years, but then I came to make a no-fault claim. Another driver drove into my car whilst it was parked. Initially the service was fast and efficient to establish it was uneconomical to repair my car and I was not at fault. Despite several requests I have at no point received any written/ email correspondence form my claim handler. He clearly preferred to do everything over the phone. Excellent service. I have changed cars twice in two years and within minutes of speaking to LV on phone, they had changed my insurance over to the new vehicle and reduced my insurance payments. Told the insurance the accident was definanetly not my fault. They agreed and said it should be easily sorted. LYON DAVIDSON Solocitors suggested i go 50/50 for an accident not caused by me at all. Ended up in court but solicitors LYONS DAVDSON didnt win it for me, I did. I was the one that did all the work/evidence etc to prove I wast not at fault.Lyons Davidson have been appalling. I agree about Lyon Davidson. I have had three different people dealing with my claim. They were recommended to me by LV but I think they should review this company. My accident also was not at all my fault but Lyon Davidson said I would be better accepting 50/50. No way will I do this. I like this other person will fight it on my own.

Cost £40 to cancel only had taken the insurance out L.V saying that I put 4 years no claims my mistake had over 1 year paid £340 told takeing £40 cancel fee NOT EVEN getting A. I was told that moving postcodes would cost me £432 - well over half my total insurance price - regardless of my car being parked on an off road private drive. I asked if this is the price I'd have to pay if I searched for a new quote, and was told that new customers would get a better deal than the price I was being told to pay - I had been with LV less than a month! I was with LV for around 5 years, no hassles...straight forward renewal of policy-happy customer. That was until the day I had my car broken into. I do feel like I'm wasting my time getting back on to this issue as all it ever done was made me frustrated and down. I honestly am not surprised nor would I expect to have any resolve. I dare say this is just an attempt to make LV look like they actually do care to people taking time to review ex-customers experiences.
And I doubt I actually would have had any resolve as I imagine I would have been directed away from the public eye to discuss my claim privately. It's actually made me view all insurance companies in a very dim light and have taken to saving privately to cover any loss I have in the future as I found the who experience absolutely appalling.
I work really hard for everything I have and I am a very hard working and trustworthy person. I work as a staff nurse and give my absolute all to looking after all my patients. I go to bed with a clear conscience at night which I'm sure is more than can be said for the staff at LV. I only hope that one day, the same thing happens to them in their personal lives so they can have a taste of how devastating it feels for their customers. To be interigated over the phone and spoken the way I was is completely shocking. If I were ever to speak to my patients in such a way I would have been given my p45. For anyone looking for good insurance I believe the best way to go is by word of mouth. If you know someone who has had to make a claim and had no issues, I'd go with that. Maybe a little pricier but it's certainly worth paying the extra and know they have your back. Good luck folks

I've been with this car Insurance for 13 years, change 3 cars already and when i sell my last car, i need to carry on with the direct debit until I finish the full year contract which has 3 months more to go. I don't have the car any more but they insist to carry on with the payment until the remaining 3 month is finish for the full year contract. 6 1/2 years and still no money. My car was badly damaged, in February 2010 -yes, Twenty TEN, when a high stone wall was pushed by contractors onto a public road & my parked car, with a default court verdict against them in February 2016 only because I took them to court myself, costing me 455. As a new customer to L.V i was very happy with my new insurance quote for 2016/2017 the price was 50% cheaper then my current provider which was Admiral. The process was quick simple and easy to insure my car, my documents arrived in email same afternoon all I had to do was print and file with my Car documents. Very Happy customer and pleased with my phurchase for the year. “Car insurance renewal price hiking”

Based on customer reviews I took out a policy with LV in 2015 to insure my brand new Range Rover Evoque at a premium of £740. In early May of this year I received a letter from LV quoting a renewal premium of £1433.59 as you can imagine I was completely astonished at the price hike.
