The Motorola C is a great phone if you haven't used 3G before. I bought this on the 3 Network. The features on it include.
Free MSN Messenger
Internet
Video Calling
Voice Calling
Texts
Crete Videos
Calculator
Calender
Alarm Clock
And many other features.
The phone lacks the useful Bluetooth and Inferred.
It has a very good Internet browser and a easy to use phone book. The texting facility is very easy to use.
The phone lacks the normal games you get on a phone but you can download them from 3 for a small price. Or if your a MSN messenger user you can download it and use it for free on PAYG until December.
The battery Life of the phone is very poor. After using the MSN application for 1 hour the phone battery was almost empty.
On the Menu of the phone you have
Games And Apps
3 services
Settings
Contact
Recent Calls
Multimedia
Connecting ( This Is 3 sync options)
Tools
And Messaging.
The phone has the normal ring styles you have on a phone. (silent vibrate, loud, vibrate and ring.) There are some great tunes already on the phone and some great images already on the phone.
On the phone there is a dedicated button for 3 Services and One for video calling. The phone is also good for watching the tv services you can buy from 3.
The phone clearly displays if its in 2G 2.5G or 3G Mode. It also a added bonus so you are aware what features you can use.
I have found the phone very easy to use as a second phone. It is very durable as i have dropped it a couple of times and the phone is still in perfect condition with no scarches.
In conclusion -
This is a great phone if you haven't used 3G before. Its not a good phone if you plan on going out without you charger for a long period of time. Its one of the many phones you can use PAYG Msn Messenger with. Gets a 4/5.

I Needed A Phone And The Motorola C975 Was Cheap.
I needed a phone and the Motorola C975 was cheap. Has a free memory card adaptor, turns on and accepts my Contract SIM card but it looks awful, has a rubbish menu, no bluetooth, and a 32MB card. I only bought it because my insurance company was a rip off and wanted £100 to even start a claim!

Although The Motorola C975 Mobile Phone Is Relativ
Although the Motorola C975 mobile phone is relatively chunky compared to other models, size is not an issue (particularly if you have been an owner of the Nokia 8800!). The phone does not feature Bluetooth or IRDA, but does however support TransFlash memory, which only works out at about £20 for a 512Mb memory card.
The joystick is a little clumsy, but you get used to it after about a day. On the '3' network, the handset enables you to manage up to five simultaneous calls, which support conferencing, but unfortunately not call transfer. The handset allows you to be in one or more calls and still use the phone at the same time, including scrolling through your phone book, browsing the web (although video features are disabled whilst in an active call), sending/receiving SMS messages and emails, and managing your active calls.
The hands-free kit is a decent quality, and it has a well-calibrated gain on the microphone. Calls are all carried at a decent quality on the '3' network due to the higher bandwidth on '3' transmitters. Any complaints about poor call quality probably relates to the network the phone is using (note that '3' will roam to the O2 network, even though it is still branded as '3', when out of service). Video calls are surprisingly good quality with an impressive frame rate, and very easy to use. The handset is a little quiet, but this is corrected in noisy areas by plugging in the supplied earpiece/microphone and taking the volume up to full.
Preloaded to the handset is a Java-based Motorola Media Player. The player is simple and stylish allowing you to manage playlists, albums and songs in an iPod-style manner. An adapter can be plugged into the earpiece socket on the handset, allowing you to plug in a normal pair of stereo headphones; since the supplied hands-free is only 1 earpiece. You can get one of these adapters for about £8 from a certain purple shop renowned for useless staff, or about £5 from a certain auction website ;).
The phone battery life is frankly appalling and does not last a full day, but undoubtedly Motorola's excuse would be the fact that the handset maintains a constant connection to the 3G/GPRS network, which is a significant drain on battery life. However, all is not lost. You can purchase 2 batteries and a desktop charger for £10 from the auction site, which is probably a better option to the shops, as they charge around £25 for a single official Motorola Original battery supplied with no charger.
The firmware is a substantial improvement over phones such as the Motorola V500, as any annoyances have been worked out (such as the slow menu's). Texting is particularly efficient on these handsets for previous Motorola users, but will most certainly take some getting used to for Nokia users and such.
In conclusion, this handset will cost you about £40 on '3' with £30 credit included, and it is a fantastic deal. So far I have not experienced any physical faults with the handset, or anything to make me regret my purchase. Indeed, the phone isn't going to be the best build quality in the world for a £10 handset, but considering the price - what are you waiting for?!
(p.s. I'd grab one of these phones before '3' start gluing in the SIM cards, which is what they plan to do with future models!)
Be careful about buying batteries from eBay, and similar places. If you buy from shops, make sure they are suitable for your handset and have a decent capacity. I had 2 batteries from Hong Kong for this handset, and both refused to hold charge after a couple of days of use, and whats more they even had a "Motorola Original" hologram on them (but I might note that they had identical serial numbers!). The supplied battery seems to triple in capacity if you condition it well (ie. recharge it fully, discharge it fully, recharge it fully etc). I no longer have any gripes about the battery life on the handset as mine will go for a few days now.
By the way, I meant the Nokia 6600 not the Nokia 8800. Sorry about that :-)

I Have Now Had My Motorola C975 Mobile Phone For 9
I have now had my Motorola C975 mobile phone for 9 months, and I have found it to be excellent! Reception has never been a problem - only losing the 3G a handful of times, but still being able to make and receive calls.
It is a basic phone with an average camera and no bluetooth, but with 2 cameras and all you need to keep in touch with each other, I have no complaints to make.
I have read other reviews, and I cannot believe they are talking about the same phone. I am also on the 3 network and I have found it excellent. I regularly browse, as it's free, and check out the news and weather which come through in video. I have shown my friends and they have also been impressed with it.
The only real drawback is that I need to charge it every day, but I do leave it on 24/7.

Overall, The Motorola C975 Is A Good Cheap Mobile
Overall, the Motorola C975 is a good cheap mobile phone which can play MP3's, videos, and it is a 3G phone (I know the 3 network sucks, but just get it unlocked to any network)
I recommend this phone to people with a limited budget.
charging/discharging dosn't make any difference the talk time and standby time is still the same as 3g is high drain on the battery ( changing the reception to 2.5g makes the times a little better though)
You will find that the battery life significantly improves when care is taken with charging and discharging the battery. Condition the battery properly (allow for a full discharge before recharging the unit), and you should find the supplied cell is as effective as other manufacturers. I would not suggest attempting to unlock phones which have been locked to the "3" network as many have safeguards in place which will render the phone inoperable if attempts are made to alter network pairing. 3rd generation sim-cards are also incompatible with conventional GSM handsets, and vice-versa so unlocking would be a waste of time anyway. Stick with the supplied SIM, it costs a lot to call into 3 (ie if someone is calling you), but calling out certainly has rates which are comparable to other mobile networks.

I Bought The Motorola C975 Brick Of A Mobile Phone
I bought the Motorola C975 brick of a mobile phone because the contract was cheap, offering 500 free minutes and 100 text messages per month. Boy, you get what you pay for. After 6 months I can't wait to get rid of it and I am going to buy a secondhand Nokia.

All Phones I Have Used In The Past Had Good Points
All phones I have used in the past had good points and bad ones. However the Motorola C975 mobile phone was a bad experience throughout. This may also be a combination of factors like 3G's technical experts telling me I am making it all up.
Anyway, I sent away for a software upgrade to 3G as it kept on crashing (2x), and I had no phone during that period. However, while crashing slowed down, it still occurs and keeps on doing things like not ringing at all.
Conclusion: Not to purchase a Motorola again and go back to Nokia.
