Miele used to be good, this is most certainly the most unreliable fridge freezer we have ever had. Auto defrost in the freezer packed up after 3 years, now auto defrost in the fridge has packed up after 4 years, a five year extended warranty is a must (we didn't have one) if you get a Miele.

Bought a Miele cat & Dog vacuum the filter broke out from the top as it was only 8 months old with a 2 year guarantee I thought it would be easy to exchange /repair unfortunately Currys and miele seemed to think it was my problem as I hadnt changed the filter ( although in perfect condition) Gave up trying to explain to a woman on end of the phone that it was a manafacturing fault, but she wouldnt listen insisting it was my fault.. Now knowing you have to pay £25 for a new filter every 8 months which is in the small print and not covered by the guarantee its not costworthy I WILL NEVER BUY FROM MIELE AGAIN and will encourage everyone I know to do the same purely for their dire aftersales service

I've had the fridge for approx. 6 years paid over 500 pounds for it. Within the first 1.5 years the handle spring broke. Miele did send a replacement free of charge. However, the big issue is the frost that keep forming in the freezer section. Although it says frost free it is not working. The fridge is exceptionally noisy. Loud clunking noises are very frequent and I'm now waiting for it to break down to buy a replacement. I will not be buying Miele again. I believe I (like others) were pulled into the myth their fridges are high quality. This is not true especially after the number of people complaining about this one product.

We have had sa imilar experience to others. Within 6 years, it's been replaced once, now has broken springs in handles and is failing to maintain temperature. Miele want £145 just to come and look at it! Meanwhile, our 12 year old Hotpoint is sat in the garage working beautifully. Miele are known for quality. This is a myth. We have a Miele washing machine that is rubbish too. Never again.

First review I've ever done. Fridge/Freeze is only 4 years old it makes a loud clunking sound. It's the comprossor on its last knockings £000s to put right . I would expect it to and it should last longer then 4 years. Meile want to charge £70+ to tell me its useless. reading the other reviews . It seems Meilie are not the be all and end all of appliances. Won't touch meile with a barge pole know matter what WHICH tell me.

This fridge is really great looking and is very stylish. I went for the metallic version to match our kitchen washer and dryer. The fridge is really massive and enough for 4 cases of larger and a couple of boxes of wine! Only problems are the bottle shelf in the door is a bit flimsy, and the freezer fronts have a habit of snapping where they shouldn't. The spares are a bit pricey so you just learn to live with it.

We initially bought this product based on a perception of Miele being a manufacturer of high quality and durability. It looked good from the outside with those chunky handles and inside the design is also pleasing. Honeymoon over after about a year when a spring broke in the fridge door handle. To give them due credit, Miele did send a replacement part when the warranty was just expired. A couple of years later the same spring broke in the fridge door handle, this time rather than pay for the new part I just swapped the fridge & freezer handles over as the freezer gets less use anyway. About 3 years after purchase I had the ubiquitous 'F4' error code & annoying beeps which can't be turned off! After Googling the error (it's not in the manual) it was the fridge temperature sensor which was faulty which seems to be a very common fault. Rather than getting an 'engineer' to fix it I followed instructions on the net and duly paid my £39.00 to Miele for a length of cable with a 'special' bit on the end. Last week the freezer developed the same type of problem with an 'F2' code which is again some sort of sensor failure. Again followed previous owners guidance and switched off & defrosted the freezer which appears to have temporarily stopped the problem. The bottom line is, don't expect to get a decent product by virtue of spending the right amount of money on a supposed 'name' manufacturer.

The worst fridge freezer I have ever had. THe appliance has been replaced once serviced several times . the replacement appliance is causing the same problem.
The average response time from Miele is two weeks.Thats two weeks without a fridge .
Do not buy a Miele fridge freezer.

The Fridge freezer was expensive but I bought it because I understood they lasted 20 years. It has been the worst white good buy in 35 years! After about 18 months it packed up and could not be fixed and after much hassle, I was given another for the same price as the repair. But lo and behold, after a further 18 months, the second packed up. This time , I'm not going to bother with customer services, they were inefficient, let me down and were expensive. I'll just write it off as a a bad experience. Never be tempted to buy one.

Bought this Miele KFN8462SD fridge freezer because it was supposed to be reliable german technology. Paid well in excess of £600.
After 3 years we have a serious fault and are waiting for engineers to come. Very disappointed as the thing creaks groans and bangs in use and is quite alarming. Seems temp control or condenser is faulty as water collects in bottom of freezer and the fault light 'F4' is flashing. Also a hairline stress crack has appeared in bottom of fridge.
Our old hotpoint was a cheap sub £200 affair and was still running fine almost 14 yrs after we bought it!

We purchased the Miele KFN8462SD because we decided to replace our 12 year old Zanussi when we were doing some changes to the kitchen. I wish we hadn't! This fridge broke down after 3 years and needed a new temperature sensor which cost GBP180 including fitting. It spluttered on for another 8 months before the temperature controls died. All in all the most expensive mistake I've ever made in the kitchen. I've replaced it with a Bosch which cost GBP199. Wish I'd done that the first time!

This is a great fridge-freezer! I've owned it for about a year now and I have to say that it is far better than any other fridge I've ever had - really low maintainance, and just a splendid thing! There is plenty of room in the fridge section, and it is nicely designed with adjustable shelving and partitions so you can really make the fridge adapt to your needs (and lots of lovely space for all those bottles of wine!).
