The overall location of the Thistle Bloomsbury hotel outweighs most of the negatives I encountered. It is near the Piccadilly line, and a bevy of bus lines that head down Oxford Street if you're looking for good shopping. Additionally, if you plan on spending some time at the British Museum, you will be happy to know that the property is a scant block away from the site. If you're a budget traveller and require a clean room and a good shower, this property might not be so bad. There are plenty of pubs and cafes nearby, so you do not have to endure the house restaurant and bar. It's a bit grim in there.

We stayed for three nights at Thistle Bloomsbury, the first night we had no problems but on day two the shower broke and after an age were transferred to a horrible, scruffy room which it turns out also had a broken shower. Our third room was no better but the shower worked. This took over 3 hours and by then most of day two of our trip was over! Completely over priced, definitely not 4 star more like 2!
