“Worst recruitment agency I have worked with hands down. ”

Written on: 23/06/2017 by Jondubs13 (1 review written)

I had reservations about Pareto Law when they called me, as I had given up with them 6 months prior due to NEVER getting a call back. However, this consultant was friendly and helpful. I was called pretty much when I was expecting and it was all good. This friendly consultant told me how great my CV was and how I should attend an assessment centre. It was 100 miles away, but as I was promised so much I thought I would go for it. WHAT A MISTAKE. I drove 100 miles each way, sat through a 6… Read Full Review

“Cliche, false, Timewasters ”

Written on: 08/05/2017

I write this review in urge that potential graduates looking for work read the reviews prior to attending their " assessment day" which is only supposed to be a group of 10 however 30 students were there. It was a day filled with very inflated egos considering they are essentially middle men with tarted up job titles to deter from the fact they are recruiters, i recieved a call from a "graduate manager" who less of backbone than a jellyfish, who invited me to this exclusive assessment day that… Read Full Review

“Incredibly unprofessional and egotistical ”

Written on: 10/04/2017 by 103Burgess (1 review written)

I was sceptical of this agency at first after reading other reviews, but decided to give it a chance. I can say with the utmost certainty the negative reviews are right. Initially I received a phone call from a "graduate manager", who without really asking me any questions invited me to assessment. He also scheduled a call to take place two days after the initial call, but this never happened. I had to chase for information on the assessment two days prior to the event, due to the lack of… Read Full Review

“Nightmare”

Written on: 02/02/2017 by Djvddubjhvfsxhb (1 review written)

Nightmare from start to finish..The assessment day involved a mass of people shouting over one another..I'd written on my cv that I was in a choir and i was asked to sing infront of the entire room of people (approx 50 people) and was marked down because I declined..The man leading the day was very arrogant and rude.. I found the whole thing quite degrading and embarassing to be quite honest and i cant quite believe that companies operate in this way.. I'm a confident person but i do not feel… Read Full Review

“If you have any morals, stay well away.”

Written on: 15/10/2016 by RodolfoDavenport (1 review written)

I cannot articulate strongly enough how much I would not recommend Pareto. They are unethical, and possibly very damaging to your career. I gave up a secure, if boring, job where I was treated incredibly well, to take on something new and more challenging. I wanted something that was intellectually more interesting than my previous job. After passing the assessment day with Pareto, I was placed into a role that 'fitted all my requirements' ... I wanted something Monday-Friday. Commutable… Read Full Review

“Great Opportunity - Dodgy People”

Written on: 14/08/2016 by RobEdmondson (1 review written)

Pareto helped me find the job I wanted and I am now 2 weeks in. That is the only reason I would recommend them to a friend. However, my experience of getting there was unfortunately very negative. 1. The Assessment day - I think the assessment is well thought out, it gives you the opportunity to show your strengths and discuss your options. 2. The company allocation process - Once you have passed the assessment Pareto get in contact to find you a job. I was actually asked to interview with… Read Full Review

“Complete and utter garbage”

Written on: 15/04/2016 by Adag397 (1 review written)

Where do I begin? If you're reading this you've probably been contacted by one of their "recruiters" already right? They told you they were impressed by your resume? (It's obvious they pitch everyone this way) but that's not important. The assessment day is a considerable waste of time, 6-7 hours of dumb tasks (some of which are legitimate tasks but still this doesn't matter). What does matter is the fact that THEY ARE LYING ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT THEY HAVE AVAILABLE. They talk about blue… Read Full Review

“Avoid at all costs - from someone who got a job...”

Written on: 11/03/2016 by otVelez226 (1 review written)

It's difficult to know where to start when summarising the absolute joke of a company that Pareto law is. Let me first state that I'm not someone, like a lot of people on here seem to be, who failed their assessment day and has come on here to complain about it. I was placed into a job through Pareto after succeeding in their assessment day and being the naive, fresh graduate that I was, jumped straight into a role. Pareto works like this: you attend an assessment day and complete a bunch… Read Full Review

Funny...I already doubted their offer and approach but so far hadn't found sound comments or explanation as to why the supposedly suck. Thank you for taking the time and energy to describe what this is all about. It seems like you have saved me from a bad experience!

“PARETO PYRAMID SCHEME - ASSESSMENT DAY FROM HELL!!!”

Written on: 10/03/2016 by KarsonMcDougall351 (1 review written)

After spending the best part of 7 hours in a room full of 50 graduates desperate for a job in sales I can safely say I should of gone with my gut feeling and not gone. I have wasted not only my time but also my money on attending a day that was an absolute waste of time. At the start we had a terribly boring uninformative lecture from whom I can only suppose was the manager for that particular assessment day. This lecture included going around the room and asking each candidate to tell the… Read Full Review

“Awful Company - Rubbish Assessment Day. Bad reflection...”

Written on: 03/02/2016 by Wheeleryi86 (1 review written)

I was recently invited to the Pareto O2 assessment day. It was awful. There were far too many candidates and they could barely get an accurate assessment of each candidates true qualities. Half the day was spent with everyone introducing themselves and one Pareto member of staff being very obnoxious and rude to most things people said. I was told that I would be presenting a presentation which I spent a great deal of time on and have an interview with O2 staff but instead this was conducted by… Read Full Review

“Unprofessional”

Written on: 12/01/2016 by CarlieDuggan140 (1 review written)

I am usually one to only write good reviews however I felt I had to share my experience. After applying for a couple of business development jobs on a job site I ended up with a telephone interview during which I was asked about my university degree. When I said the town in which I studied my master's degree I was abruptly asked which university. I said "university X" (a Russell Group university) but can't help feeling if I had said a lower ranked university this would have been judged… Read Full Review

“Clingy”

Written on: 12/12/2015

So I applied for a job I saw on Reed.co.uk not realising Pareto only offer sales positions (nothing about sales in the advert). A few days later a lady rang me and did the whole 'you're amazing' pitch, told her what I was looking for which isn't sales. She was really pushy trying to get me to go to an assessment day, I told her I wasn't interested so eventually she gave up and that was that. So I thought... For over a month now they have been ringing me at least 2 or 3 times a week, and… Read Full Review

“Worst agency ever”

Written on: 04/11/2015 by Jeffery88 (1 review written)

I applied for a role a couple of years ago and was unsucessful even though they didnt see my CV because i had sent it through recruiter website and they claimed they dont have it. And then they just said they cant process application. Recently saw another role you had to be a graduate and fluent in european language. I fit the criteria and they said they want to arrange telephone interview i was evryday for two weeks to get hold of the person who had to interview me. After leavin 10 voice mails… Read Full Review

“Work Experience ”

Written on: 16/07/2015

When calling Pareto Law in search of some work experience the lady on the phone informed me that it would be better for me to give her my email address as opposed to taking theres and then they could get in touch with me (an indication that they are perhaps not too bothered about offering people work experience?)When giving my email adress and my second name ( a fairly common and well known second name) the lady on the other end of the phone then said 'spell it' in a very rude way. As I carried… Read Full Review

“Rude recruiter”

Written on: 15/07/2015 by Mendoza396 (1 review written)

I am writing this review only a few minutes after receiving a call from these guys. I felt that I had to voice my opinion after an unexplainably rude phone call. I had a missed call and decided to ring back, I was asked for my name and the recruiter said oh yes and started asking about my situation. I said that I had 2 job offers and was contemplating which one but I was still open to other suggestions. He asked about the roles and the salary and after I had finished he stated " it sounds like… Read Full Review

“Falling for a very obvious artifice...”

Written on: 13/06/2015 by Isabell260 (1 review written)

I applied for a job that I came across online and then received a phone call a few days later from Pareto Law saying that my application had gone through them and that they were interested in what I had to offer. The woman on the phone told me that it didn't matter what job I had applied for initially because they'd match me to a company if I passed the telephone interview and subsequent assessment day. As my employment situation has reached crisis management, I overlooked how clandestine the… Read Full Review

“Graduate careers = cold calling!!!”

Written on: 03/06/2015 by 67Gonzalez (1 review written)

This agency is not organized at all!! I applied for a graduate position last week, shortly after I received calls from different people asking the same information. The first person asked me some things and said that my profile would fit the role and they would send me an email and return the call to progress with the process and nothing happened, the person did not call me back and did not reply my email requesting an update. The second person, four days after, asked me the same questions… Read Full Review

“Unprofessional Pareto”

Written on: 25/04/2015 by 388Howell (1 review written)

I would not recommend this place to anyone. My telephone recruiter was nice but clearly angling for commission. The telephone recruiter was probably the only decent thing about Pareto. The assessment day was just ridiculous. The group exercises are not worthy indicators of a graduates skill and capability for sales. The provided food was awful and probably worth about £30 in total for 50 people. The worst part for me was the 3 minute presentation where the assessor did not give any eye… Read Full Review

“V V BAD!!! - give recruitment a bad name. simples”

Written on: 05/02/2015 by Morris172 (1 review written)

Do not bother! There is no ethics what so ever, grads should be taken seriously, and the service that these recruiters provide is UNACCEPTABLE. Main point to take - do not waste your time, I passed interviews on the phone twice and still didnt bother with the assessment day due to the fact that i was passed on to numerous consulants… Read Full Review

Helpinggraduates's Comment

Written on: 07/02/2015

If I can do one thing to help graduates, I would like to say read these reviews. Ask youself if anybody is really offering you a fast track to success?

Read the positive reviews and use your graduate skills to work out who is really writing them.

Ask yourself who are driving the Porsches and what their business motives are.

I am a lot older and know how the world works. Sales is a tough and cynical world.
What is a graduate in the sales world?.....Better spoken?? Did you do a degree to go into the tough end of cold calling or call centres. When did that actually become more than an O or A level job.

The best salesmen I know have no qualifications and yes its almost entirely about personality and the gift of the gab

Of course their clients are happy with anybody reasonably competent and well educated. Should I say conditioned :(?

If you dont like the training day let them know and walk out! Not that they will be bothered. I feel sorry for those who have travelled far with high hopes

Companies like this depress me. Ive seen it all before. Please think on becuse you are all worth more than being treated like this.
